I think this is the wrong measure, because the average consumer didn't buy a 42-inch TV in 2000. Plus, here was a Sony 43" rear projection, HD tv from 2001 at $2,000. Not $15k.
@Blackcapitalis I like my 15 yr old flatscreen so much I bought a 2nd one in a different size when I found it. It's only 1080 capable but it's rare I actually watch content in 4k so it works for most things.
I officially need a new laptop to keep developing games... and probably a lot of other things. My laptop is from 2018 and @unity will no-longer support "Intel based Macs." https://t.co/isZKzRZNJL
Just great.
@Bouza_Vic@AccessTheAnimus This is true. I think those locations just had too much to load on a PS3/360 but everything else is seamless. I also prefer the original docking, why is the ship going in turbo mode when the rope is thrown lol.
@VHSDVDBLURAY4K I think the retailers helped themselves as well by not adapting to the changing markets. One of my complaints about big box stores is that they quit stocking lower-demand items so you HAVE to order online. Might as well go to Amazon if that's the case. Sadly
@nathan_covey I always thought the proliferation of GPS devices and cell phone map apps has killed off what little pathfinding skills most people once had. I hear you on feeling awkward being the only one in a room NOT staring at a screen. In someways it feels superhuman.
The market needs more homes like this. Nice little cottage style houses.
Makes for an affordable entry and easier to add on to in case the family needs more space.
Some retro systems may have gone down or retraced a little in value over the last yr (at least demand has dropped), but with the rising cost of all NEW hardware, I suspect many will be turning to the old standards in higher numbers soon.
@wokal_distance I would argue the lack of having an income tax isn't the reason for an alternate tax. Wasn't property tax in effect before income tax came around anyway?
Back when I worked on the Office for Mac team at Microsoft... this is what Microsoft Office looked like.
And, importantly, this old version (2001) is *still* fully functional, 25 years later. Unlike Microsoft Office for Mac 2019... which is about to be disabled by Microsoft.
Some other fun facts about Office 2001:
- Is just as functional as modern versions of Office (with *more* programability features).
- Runs in roughly 10 MB of RAM.
- Fast as heck, even on 25 year old hardware.
@memeticsisyphus I'm commenting on the image showing a lane closure, but it looks like the situation you gave is for people in a drive-thru line? Sorry the language was confusing to me.
@memeticsisyphus It should be an unspoken rule on the road that in this situation, everyone takes a "1-2" alternate turn. Left lane goes, right lane goes, left, right. No traffic jam, no slowdown. Stop driving parallel to other cars and this problem ends. (Obviously not with a stop ahead).
