Here is what Meta announced in a single internal document:
- 8,000 employees terminated - 10% of the entire global workforce
- 6,000 open job positions closed permanently
- More layoffs confirmed for later this year

The total headcount impact: 14,000 positions. Gone.

Meta had 78,865 employees. Now 70,000. Drops again before year end. $135 billion in AI spending. Something had to give.

What gave: everyone not building AI. Middle managers. Support. QA. Replaced not by humans - by the systems Meta is betting everything on.

33,000 jobs cut since 2022. Each time Wall Street rewarded him. Each time a bigger bet followed.
