Congratulations Mr tosin
I think the bigger challenge here may eventually become operational coordination
Candidates tracking, onboarding flow, scheduling, and communication visibility becomes heavy fast
I, as an Operations Assistant will help keep the process running smooth.
From June 1st, I will be heading the engineering and technical team of a health startup based in Lagos Nigeria (presently worth $20 million in valuation)
I will be recruiting 10 people into the engineering team for the following positions.
QAs
Product Owners
AI Engineers
DevOps
Software Engineers (Full Stack)
That’s a lot of work for me to handle the recruitment process because we don’t have HR yet.
I can only handle the technical interviews.
Is there any recruitment agency you can recommend?
Hi @galasausage,
I’m Moyin, and I’m hosting The Rising Table this June in Surulere a gathering where women will come to learn real vocational skills for free. I would love Gala to be part of this.
Here’s why this matters to me personally.
Growing up, Gala was always on our table. It wasn’t about luxury it was survival. But beyond that, Gala represented something deeper to me. It felt like a brand for people who were trying. People who were building something from nothing. People who kept going even when life was hard.
That’s exactly who these women are.
The women coming to The Rising Table are not looking for motivation speeches or empty promises anymore. They’re tired of depending on people. Tired of struggling financially. Tired of feeling stuck. They’re coming to learn practical skills that can help them earn, build income, and take care of themselves.
And honestly, moments like this need more than just training. When a woman is sitting through hours of learning, trying to change her life, she needs support around her. She needs to feel seen. She needs brands that understand what it means to hustle, survive, and keep moving forward.
That’s why I thought of Gala.
For these women, Gala won’t just be a snack. It will be part of a real moment in their lives. A moment where they started learning how to stand on their own financially.
We’re asking for Gala snacks for the 100 women attending The Rising Table. In return, Gala becomes part of their story not through ads, but through presence. Through showing up when it mattered. And that kind of connection lasts.
I would really love to discuss this further with your team.
Thank you.

60 hours of work, 0 hours wasted.
For Stage 2 of @hnginternship , I provided executive support to a busy tech professional:
Managing his schedule, curating technical resources, and ensuring personal goals didn't slip through the cracks.
Just completed my first HNG virtual assistant task. @hnginternship
Learned that being professional is really about structure, clarity and consistency.
My goal is to become more efficient, dependable and easy to work with.

Worked on a growth strategy for a thrift brand (Ochrichahub) with just few followers.
Built a 1-month content calendar + business strategy focused on visibility, trust, and sales.
Sent it to the brand and got a positive response.
Real growth work.
July, 2025.
I was down to my last $10 as I stopped taking graphic design jobs for over 8 months to learn UI/UX.
I wasn’t sure if I was wasting my time, and was skeptical if anyone would hire a newbie designer.
I was studying in my room in school one afternoon, when I got a text from a client I worked for in the past.
He said “Yo, are you available for a job?”.
I was expecting a quick $20-$50 job to get by, but he said needed a UI/UX designer to design his game.
I didn’t know if I could deliver, but I was desperate and needed the money, so I said I could and over promised.
He asked for a price range, but I didn’t know how to charge since I never had a job.
He then said I should give him 24 hours to ask for quotations on upwork, and he’d get back to me.
2 days had passed, and I was down to $5 and tired of waiting, so I reached out and asked what the delay was.
He then told me he had just hired TWO designers on upwork for $9 and $15 an hour respectively, and I nearly lost my mind.
He said “well, you can still do something cool if you want”, and I locked in and started designing for free.
No prior experience, and 48 hours later, I delivered my design and waited for his feedback.
He told me the upwork designers did a terrible job and asked if I could deliver the rest of the game screens.
We went on and worked together at $10 a hour, and 6 weeks later I’d delivered most of the screens and racked up $1800.
It was underpaid at the time, but it as one of my most grateful moments, coming from having a $5 portfolio.
That’s one experience changed the trajectory of my career.
The game design that got me my first UI design job:

Update!!
It’s currently my second week as a tutor and my goodness!! I love it so muchhh.
I’ll make a proper post on it soon.
( Down with the flu thanks to this harmattan)
I applied as a volunteer tutor recently, all this while, I assumed I’d be teaching Junior students and started preparing towards it, just to find out it’s Senior School ( SS3) instead.
Lmaooo😭 make this students sha no beat me😂
At this point, I don’t know what to do so I’m quoting this again. I’ve sent mails to companies and I’ve not gotten positive responses yet. They say a closed mouth is a closed destiny.
I’m an English graduate currently looking for a PPA in Lagos starting February, after NYSC camp (next week).
I am a UI/UX designer and also have research and customer service skills.
