The dichotomy presented is false. You can hate your government without hating your nation. At the same time, you can advocate for your people without reflexively hating ideas that come from outside.

Diomedes is right that we should celebrate our own blood and soil. American nationalists have plenty of heroes and precedents right here: Washington, Jackson, Lee, the secessionists. No one disputes that.

But narrowing "our" to strictly American expressions of blood and mythos creates its own problem. American blood is Anglo-Saxon blood that traces back through the British Isles to mainland Europe. The Founders drew heavily from the Roman Republic, outside their native British framework, to build something new. They did not invent in a vacuum or limit themselves to "American" ideas that did not yet exist.

Traditions live in blood, not land or a sealed national creed. We can draw from the broader Western inheritance, Roman, British, or other European examples, many from the Weimar period and after that are more directly applicable to our situation today. We do this without making it who we are or abandoning our distinct American identity. Problems like demographic replacement, banking power, and elite overreach are civilizational. Successful or failed responses from our kin abroad remain relevant tools.

Blood first. Ideas and mythos are instruments, not the definition of the people. Limiting the toolbox to one branch weakens us and limits our success for no reason.
