@kate_mckean It's not unusual for a nonfiction author to work with another professional writer/ghostwriter/etc. You're often acquiring more largely on concept/author platform and don't need to know the line-level details of every part of the ms as much.
@LuxAlptraum I noticed the shoes too! I'm not fashionista, so I didn't know if it was off or not, per se. But I definitely thought it was a deliberate choice!
@daniellejoseph1 :)
Re: brunch: if you feel up for hopping down to SoHo, La Mercerie is a pretty atmosphere on the nicer side, and Balthazar is classic NYC bistro and delicious.
@daniellejoseph1 For pre-theater dinner:
High-end: The new restaurants that opened in Rock Center are actually supposed to be good: NARO for Korean or Le Rock for French
Casual mid-range farm-to-table: The Marshal
(1/x -- more options to come, inc. brunch)
@melon_reads I second the Olive's Ocean rec. Also The Thing About Jellyfish. A good children's librarian should be able to help with more recent recs and more specific to your needs.
@cupcakeandy Also, I specify what I'm asking for--a stay on my current rent for another year, x months' concession, etc. If you paid a rent increase in the past, part. recently, perhaps mention that.
@cupcakeandy I always present my case--paying my rent on time for x years, keeping the apt. in good shape, respectful relationship with super, etc. If the comp apts. in the area are generally cheaper, I mention that too. But ultimately it's if they want to keep a good tenant or kick you out.
