Eastern Orthodoxy is the living faith, rooted in the Church Christ established and still worshiping as the early Christians did. It’s ancient, reverent, unchanged

@THEORTHOCHAT While this is true, St. John lived long before feminism gave modern women the licence to be disrespect and entitled. Constantly giving and being respectful when it is not reciprocated is a recipe for disaster. Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us! 🙏🏽☦️
@TungstenMonarch@Kaysuede@ElectionWiz Hilarious you are! Father Josiah himself narrates the text and his publishing company translated it…but you know better. Incredible arrogance. https://t.co/3mM2bIw5fO
Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
The joy of the Lord’s Resurrection is a foretaste of the eternal joy in the Kingdom of God.
If we have suffered and died with Christ, we have the hope that we shall also rise with Him, for death has been conquered and no longer terrifies us.
If by Adam’s disobedience death entered the world, Christ became perfectly obedient to the Father, loved us to the very end, and, enduring torments and death on the Cross, rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures.
It is fitting that we rejoice and that our hearts leap with gladness in these days filled with cascades of light, for the risen Christ dies no more, and no one can steal from us the joy of His Resurrection.
Let us forgive one another all things for the sake of the Resurrection, and let us celebrate spiritually in the peace and joy of the Holy Spirit.
Blessed feast to you all!
Christ is Risen!
Great Saturday is the most important, most famous Saturday of the year and one of the most significant days of the church year.
On this day, the Church commemorates the bodily burial of Jesus Christ and His descent into Hades. Today, the entire Universe holds its breath! Today, the Holy Church, all and everything: heaven and earth, angels and men, calls to bow before the Life-Giving Tomb of Christ—the Source of our Resurrection. The Word of God became flesh and descended into the tomb. He descended also into Hades with His immortal and Divine soul!
Today, the Lord descends into the Hades of every human soul to tear it from the captivity of death, from the dark service to the world and the service to its own passions… We must hear these steps of the coming Christ, hear them and rejoice as Adam rejoiced with the great ineffable spiritual joy! For this purpose, we have walked this path, the length of Great Lent! For this purpose, our attempt at abstinence, our attempt at self-restraint, our attempt to delve into our own heart was undertaken!
Today, the entire Universe holds its breath! Only a few hours remain until the moment when the whole world will resound with the bright Easter greeting! Today, the heart of every believer holds its breath!
"The entire history of Christianity is nothing other than the history of a single and unique miracle - the miracle of the Resurrection of Christ - which continues uninterrupted in the hearts of Christians, day by day, year by year, century after century, until the Second Coming.”
Saint Justin Popovich
