What “we need someone flexible” means to HR vs the employee
HR’s version:
• We need someone who can adapt.
• Sometimes things come up unexpectedly.
• We value people who are willing to step up.
• It doesn’t mean we expect too much from you.

Kwaggafontein Businesses Under Pressure as Residents Reportedly Flee Amid Extortion Claims
Businesses and residents in Kwaggafontein are reportedly facing escalating pressure from an alleged extortion network, with claims that people across the local economy are being forced to pay so-called protection fees.
The allegations emerged amid testimony before the Madlanga Commission, where the commission is expected to examine claims of organised extortion and the impact it has had on communities and businesses in the area.
Residents Describe Alleged Extortion
According to sources, the alleged demands extend far beyond established businesses, with informal traders and people earning income from everyday activities reportedly being targeted.
Residents have claimed that traders selling food, taverns, car washes, meat outlets and people selling livestock are among those allegedly expected to make payments.
There are also allegations that people receiving pension or Road Accident Fund-related payouts have been approached for money.
The claims have reportedly contributed to some businesses shutting down or leaving the area. Among the businesses said to have been affected are shops at Kwaggafontein Mall and service stations.
Claims of 30% Demands
One resident alleged that businesses are expected to surrender as much as 30% of their income or proceeds.
The resident further claimed that people making major purchases, including vehicles allegedly worth more than R1 million, could face scrutiny from individuals described as "amadoda amakhulu".
These allegations have not been independently proven.
The resident said the pressure had become so severe that he abandoned a six-hectare farm in the area.
Sibanyoni Testifies Before Commission
The allegations have gained further attention following testimony involving Mpumalanga taxi boss Joe "Ferrari" Sibanyoni at the Madlanga Commission.
Sibanyoni has reportedly acknowledged receiving money from businesses operating in the area despite allegedly providing no services in return.
Sibanyoni and his co-accused are facing allegations linked to an extortion operation in the area. The charges remain allegations until tested in court.
The commission is expected to examine the alleged flow of money, the identities of those involved and whether businesses and residents were subjected to coercion.
Calls for Accountability
The claims paint a disturbing picture of an environment where businesses may struggle to operate freely because of alleged criminal pressure. However, allegations presented before a commission must be carefully distinguished from facts established through evidence and due process.
Any proven wrongdoing should be met with decisive law-enforcement action, while residents and legitimate businesses should be protected from intimidation. The broader accountability question is whether authorities can dismantle alleged protection networks and restore confidence in Kwaggafontein's local economy.

I took $50 and flipped it into $50,000.
Anybody can talk about making money, and anybody can post a winning trade!
But doing it again and again, consistently? That’s different. This right here is what I’m known for.

Home Affairs Orders Asylum Offices to Accept New Applications
The Department of Home Affairs has reportedly ordered Refugee Reception Offices to accept new asylum applications, including from people who entered South Africa outside official ports of entry.
The move follows a Constitutional Court ruling affecting parts of the Refugees Act and related regulations.
Officials may no longer reject applications solely because applicants entered unlawfully, lack documents or applied late.
African men, do you tell your parents you love them every day?
For example, you’re on the phone with your parent, and you’re about to hang up. Do you say, “I love you,” or do you just say goodbye? 😂
Lol, I’m trying to see something.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has reportedly cut off the financial support he had been providing his daughter Simone for years after his split from her mother.
He is said to have given her money specifically so she could build something of her own in fitness and entertainment, hoping she would eventually become independent.
According to the claim, Johnson said: “I’ve been giving Simone a large weekly allowance and seed money to invest in her own brand, but she doesn’t seem ready to put in the work the way I did. She keeps spending it on designer bags, vacations, and parties instead of building.”
