For want of a nail the shoe was lost
For want of a shoe the horse was lost
For want of a horse the rider was lost
For want of a rider the message was lost
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail
Cambourne's new Memorial Garden being planted this morning - thanks to funding from our Improving the High Street grant. 🌹
Cambourne Town Council received £20,000 funding for the scheme from the Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund grant. The @CambsPboroCA is the lead authority for delivery of the Fund, while the District Council is responsible for grant scheme delivery and allocation.
This morning, alongside local veterans and Town Council workers, Cllr Helene Leeming @ForWantOfANail helped plant the new memorial garden for Cambourne.
@SouthCambs District Council awarded £20,000 to fund the project, so Cambourne can finally get a war memorial after 25 years.
The Government say that 150,000 unpaid carers will lose Carers Allowance as a result of the proposed cuts in their Welfare Bill.
What the heck are we doing here? In what world is this the right thing to do?
Liberal Democrats will be voting against these appalling cuts.
The results are in for Cambourne division.
Lucy Nethsingha from the Liberal Democrat party has been elected.

Listening to @SkyNews saying this 10% tariff is as good as it can get.
So we must celebrate only being smacked half as hard as our neighbours, whose economies are intertwined with ours?
And incidentally, there is one significant country with no tariffs - Russia.
Incoherent.
Seven years ago today in Salisbury, a former Russian military officer and his daughter Yulia, were poisoned by Russian agents on the orders of Putin, with the deadly nerve agent Novichok. Both spent weeks in a critical condition in hospital. A Wiltshire police officer, Nick Bailey, was taken into intensive care after attending the incident. Later that year, my constituent Dawn Sturgess, an innocent member of the public, died following contact with debris casually discarded by the Russian agents. When we reflect on the loss of life and the audacity of Russia’s actions we should be left in no doubt about the character and outlook of Putin. In today’s changing world we need to build an enduring security arrangement with our neighbours in Europe to protect ourselves from future threats and attacks. Russia is not our friend and we must be prepared for all manifestations of their malevolence in future.
📢Just in: UK Government to keep ban on bee-killing pesticide in place📢
For years, experts and over 300,000+ nature lovers have called for this ban to be maintained, but have been repeatedly disappointed. We are delighted with this latest decision🐝🌍
Never thought we’d see a technocratic government in Syria before Lebanon — & never thought I would ever report from my hometown.
1st byline from Damascus, 1st byline with @rayajalabi. New world.
