End of season stats time for @monaghangaa. The loss of Rory Beggan was a huge factor today. Another one to consider is that St Tiernach Park draws were arguably a driver in #Monaghan's run to the quarter-final. Outside of Clones their form has been poor.
The @monaghangaa 2026 scorers. @AughnamullenGAA's Mícheál Bannigan claims top spot, after having just missed out on it by a point to Rory Beggan in 2025. @ScotstownGAA's Jack McCarron actually had a higher scoring average though, with 3.64 points per game versus 3.39 for Bannigan
The @monaghangaa 2026 apps. Only @InniskeenGaa's Andrew Woods, @PearseBrothers Dessie Ward & @AughnamullenGAA's Mícheál Bannigan played every game this year. @ScotstownGAA's Rory Beggan (172) has most apps in the current panel. How Farney fans must wish he could have made 1 more.
Top class stuff from Vinnie Corey on @Farneyarmypod today.
(Vinnie ending in -ie was news to me too)

Rory Beggan is the only player who started the 2013 and 2015 Ulster finals set to start for @monaghangaa tomorrow.
For Monaghan to have remained competitive and reach an Ulster final with a brand new team is extremely impressive.
Model football county considering resources.

SKIPPER Micheal Bannigan led from the front as Monaghan progressed to the Dr McKenna Cup final against Donegal with a narrow, but deserved, win over Tyrone at Inniskeen.

"Trying to realise i couldn't solo at the speed i was going"
Starting to play football at 17, Karl O'Connell struggled most with the solo - he was running too fast 😀
Good to chat to Karl O'Connell who retired last week
He has an unusual story, not typical of an All Star footballer.
- Only started playing Gaelic football at 17
- Only became a regular for Monaghan at 27
- Became an All Star at 30
-Nearly got another All Star at 35
Shout out to @KarlOConnell13 on his retirement. This was one of the great moments. When Karl put the ball over the bar, the ground literally, (and I mean literally in the literal sense)😅 shook. Spine tingling stuff. ⚪️🔵
