This course will consider the letters Black writers exchanged and how they helped to found what we understand as African American & Caribbean literature.

With less than two weeks before we say goodbye to October, we want to reintroduce you to Fr. R. Bentley Anderson. Fr. Anderson’s research deals with the issue of race and religion in the southern U.S and South Africa in the post-World War II period.
As you all gear up for midterms, we want to take a moment to reintroduce you to Dr. Jane Edward, Associate Clinical Professor and Director of African Immigration Research for the BAAHP. She has been engaging the African community of the Bronx for over ten years!
We hope your week is off to a great start! We want to reintroduce you all to Dr. Laurie Lambert. This will be her fifth year with the Department of African & African American Studies. Her most popular course is Black Feminism: Theory and Expression.
As we round out the month of September, we would like to reintroduce you to Dr. Mark Chapman. This is his 29th year with the Dept. of African & African American Studies at Fordham! His most popular courses are Martin L. King Jr. & Malcolm X as well as The Black Prison Experience.
This week we want to reintroduce you to Dr. Tyesha Maddox, assistant professor of African & African American Studies. This is her fifth year at Fordham and her first year teaching AFAM 3560 "We Can't Breathe"...The History of Black Protest.
