Geneva: Under the leadership of Dr. Naseem Baloch, the BNM delegation participated in the 62nd UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva, holding meetings with UN Special Rapporteurs and human rights officials to raise concerns over the imprisonment of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, the misuse of anti-terrorism laws, enforced disappearances, collective punishment and human rights violations in #Balochistan.

UN officials assured the delegation they would coordinate with relevant Special Procedures to explore issuing a joint communication/statement on Dr. Mahrang Baloch's case and the broader human rights situation.

Geneva: A delegation from the Foreign Department of the @BNMovement_ and its Human Rights Department, @paank_bnm, is currently at the @UN under the leadership of @DrNaseemBaluch.

The delegation has attended numerous side events and met with several Special Rapporteurs, highlighting the gross human rights violations in #Balochistan. Particular attention was drawn to the policy of collective punishment and the targeting of Dr. Naseem Baloch’s family by the Pakistani state in an apparent attempt to prevent him from continuing his struggle for freedom and equality.

Members of the delegation also raised concerns regarding the unjust trial and sentencing of Dr. @MahrangBaloch_, Sibghatullah Shah Jee Baloch, and others, who have been sentenced to life imprisonment on fabricated charges, without being offered a fair trial.

This verdict is an attempt to silence dissent, intimidate activists, and force Baloch leaders to abandon their principled stance.

Rather than addressing legitimate grievances, the state continues to rely on coercive measures and politically motivated prosecutions to suppress peaceful voices.

The targeting of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and her colleagues reflects a broader pattern of efforts to criminalize political activism and discourage advocacy against enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and other human rights violations in Balochistan.
