My op-ed in the Business Daily: if vaping is meant to help smokers quit, why is it marketed to the nine in ten African adults who don't use tobacco?
Harm reduction means fewer deaths and less disease, not more sales.

Public participation belongs to Kenyans. Article 5.3 of the WHO FCTC protects health policy from tobacco industry interests, including when they speak through others.
Every presenter on the Tobacco Bill should declare industry links, on the record.

Stronger tobacco control won't fuel illicit trade. Kenya had the strong administrative systems required by the WHO Illicit Trade Protocol years before ratifying it. Parliament, pass the Bill.

On 1 July 2026, Tanzania legislated exactly that.

Sweet flavours. Bright colours. Same poison. Nicotine is addictive by design, it harms the developing brain, and it is built to keep you paying for life. The industry calls it an alternative. The science calls it a trap.

In the interim, you will see a lot on tobacco control here. That is by design. The Tobacco Control (Amendment) Bill 2024 has passed the Senate and is now before the National Assembly. This is where public voices count the most.
