Survivor guilt
[noun] /sษหvaษช.vษ หษกษชlt/
difficult and painful feelings caused by the fact that you are still alive after a situation in which other people died
Perhaps. Though then again, when any one person does it, it is once again flawed with biases. Perhaps if a group were to decideโฆ but even then biases are inevitable. In that case, perhaps no matter what the world looks like, some problems cannot be fully solved.
Let's say, how a peson is "good" or not relies on their environment, experience and things outside of just themselves. If that's the case, how could we judge the "bad"? The fault lies in the world itself.
You asked about what makes people think someone is good. Revaluation, if really happen, is a lengthy process. In normal everyday life, most people wonโt think about such a thing and will just go for whatever is familiar to them.
And that aside, if no one ever thought they were wrong in any way, would anyone ever change? Does the fact that people do change not prove that people can reevaluate matters that previously they thought incorrect?
Of course, but even so, it is not as though the words evaporate into nothing. Even if only subconsciously, the brain will at least think about them and if it does that, then whoโs to say it wonโt affect future actions and ideas?
People can hear, but often than not that doesnโt mean they will truly listen and willing to see another view different than theirs.
Itโs understandable, really.
I think saying that everyone will simply dismiss other ideas from their own as fully wrong is too black and white a view for how mixed the world can be. Life is far too complicated to fully sort into โrightโ and โwrong, no?
Normally, most people assign it based on first impression: politeness, hospitality, friendliness.
Going beyond it would then be a harder category, since our morality is often different.
What does make someone good in the eyes of others? Objectively speaking quite a few people would no longer be held in such good graces after all. *๐ค
@memendiem Though not like your case, there are many people who did not choose a certain condition or life they ended up with. Life simply isnโt fair at timesโฆ Iโm sorry, but perhaps that is simply something youโll need to come to terms with.
@memendiem Averageโฆ? Iโm not too sure. You are, after all, a rather extraordinary case. Perhaps as such no matter what you do, you cannot be โaverageโ.
