California's snowpack has collapsed at a pace never seen before in late winter, the fastest late February–March melt on record.

Spring snowpack is now on track to be the second smallest since records began in 1950, trailing only 2015, the lowest snowpack year in the Sierra Nevada in at least the last 500 years.

Phillips Station, the state's most iconic snowpack measurement site, is expected to show bare ground on April 1, the date that has historically marked peak snowpack.

Hidden on page 744 of the farm bill the House Agriculture Committee passed Thursday is a provision that would condemn millions of pigs to a lifetime in gestation crates.

Rebranded the 'Save Our Bacon Act,' it's a pork-industry play to wipe out every state law banning the sale of pork from crated pigs — laws the conservative Supreme Court upheld in 2023.

Over 85% of Democrats and Republicans oppose these crates. Voters have backed ballot measures to ban them in state after state.

The pork industry knows it can't win a straight vote on this. So it's burying the provision in an 800-page bill and hoping no one notices.

Some scary scenes out of Chile last night where wildfires ripped through the communities of Penco and Lirquen in the Bibio region. Chilean President Gabriel Boric has declared a State of emergency.

Nearly 20,000 people were ordered to evacuate, and as seen in the video, many cars congested the roads which were run over by fire. There are currently no reports on injuries or possible fatalities.

Up to 12 wildfires are burning in this region, with emergency managers saying 3,000 homes where threatened. There has been widespread destruction to homes, hospitals, and churches in the towns.

Chile is no stranger to large and destructive wildfires in the past few years, with multiple high profile arson cases, including in 2024 where a firefighter and forestry official working for the National Forestry Corporation, were arrested after a fire they set killed 137 people in the Valparaíso region.

Every time Abbotsford floods, buffoons blame climate change.

Most of the southern part of the Fraser Valley are a flood plain, and Abbotsford and Chilliwack area was built on a drained lake called Sumas Lake.
First Nations didn't even build there, instead building on higher ground.

Sumas Lake was world renowned for its bird colonies, trout, and even had lake sturgeons.

It attracted many birders and naturalists.
