oh MY. if you are well person and a dr is trying to sell you blood/stool tests, ask: WHAT IS EVIDENCE THAT YOUR TEST WILL TELL ME SOMETHING BEYOND EAT MORE VEG/DRINK LESS ALCOHOL/BE A HEALTHY WEIGHT/DO EXERCISE . if they say 'PERSONALISED' ask 'what RCT evidence do you have' /

@Parody_RCGP @mgtmccartney And no, I don't think the evidence has changed in favour of more frequent screening. If anything the evidence favours doing it less often now - see the recent change in the NHS cervical screening programme.

@Parody_RCGP @mgtmccartney We briefly had a practice nurse who was trained to do smears, and she did a couple while she was with us. We don't have a nurse any more. We were careful in how we advertised/talked about the service & did our best not to encourage women to have them unnecessarily frequently.

@Megsenmumdr @Parody_RCGP I presume so. I think the issue is that NHS money is used to reimburse NHS GP partners for their premises costs, so the premises can't be used for private work in core hours because that would mean NHS funding in effect subsidising the private company.
