One interesting thing about this controversy is that there's nothing stopping all these whiners from making their own adaptation of The Odyssey.

Elon Musk could cut a check right now for a big budget adaptation produced exactly to his liking. He could hire the director and writer and crew he wants. He could cast whomever he wants.

He and his like-minded, fragile fanboys could set out to prove that their version of The Odyssey is aesthetically superior and more commercially successful.

But they haven't and they won't.

Because it's not really about The Odyssey.

It's about the insatiable craving for outrage and grievance. They are constantly starved for things to be angry about.

Bugs are making it worse.

♦ Warmer winters fail to kill pests.
♦ Pine beetles are multiplying rapidly now.
♦ Pests kill millions of forest trees.
♦ Dead trees create massive fuel piles.

Extreme weather creates spark triggers.

♦ Climate change shifts atmospheric jet streams.
♦ This causes more frequent dry lightning.
♦ It also creates much stronger winds.
♦ Winds fan tiny sparks into infernos.

Climate change is the amplifier.

♦ Campfires and arson still start fires.
♦ Human carelessness triggers the initial spark.
♦ But climate change prepares the fuel.
♦ It turns small fires into monsters.
