Last night @StevenageBC consented the build of hundreds of templated houses on #ForsterCountry conservation area - against the advice of @EnglishHeritage @CPRE and its own heritage advisors.

The outline housing project was approved in 2020. But this was a chance for the council to impose the highest design standards it could in the conservation area. It could have built the houses people need in a beautiful way to match a beautiful place. Instead: rubbish blocks.
