We must be vigilant. History has shown us that bad actors will exploit tragedy. 9/11 showed us this with the Patriot Act. Charlie Kirk’s assassination Bondi and other congressional members who claim to be Conservative are attempting to use it as justification for “hate speech” laws which is unconstitutional. Under any other circumstance they would never attempt this.

We CANNOT allow emotions drive us to implementing tools of tyranny.

With people rightfully emotionalized by Kirk’s assassination, and the trauma inflicted on the public especially teenagers who by simply opened social media apps, then were bombarded with video after video and after video of the SAME up close and graphic video of his murder has greatly disturbed people. Obviously 9/11 was worse due to the sheer number of people, 3,000 who died that day, and the first responders and others who developed cancer as a result. But from a stand point of mass trauma it’s up there as the video is burned in our minds, and the average American has never seen a murder.

With that, I sense just like in the wake of 9/11 and the Patriot Act, currently with an emotionalized public there will be attempts to push unconstitutional measures that people will cheer on, that in normal circumstances they would fight back against, because of the danger it poses.
