Successful Court of Appeal Judgment for David McIlroy.
The court of Appeal has confirmed in Philipp v Barclays Bank, that the Quincecare duty applies to claims by victims of APP fraud. David McIlroy acted for Which? Who intervened in support of the successful appeal.
David McIlroy has been providing training to members of the Cyprus Bar Association on the new Civil Procedure Rules to be adopted in 2023. The new rules (modelled on the Woolf Reforms) will mark a key change in Cyprus's legal culture.
