@TheStrugglingS4 I think most people in academia loss that connection with the real world. They live in a hypothetical perfect world and no sympathy for people who will work in the real world. Which is hard for them to do.
@tarabrabazon Dear Tara, your vlog is amazing as usual. I was keep thinking what has gone wrong between supervisors and their students as i heard so many horrible stories. Yes, this is the reason, experts in one area cannot make that person a better teacher.
Just a gentle reminder that #PhD students are not ‘just employees’.
Even though their duties may involve extensive multitasking - lab work, data analysis, purchases, writing, travel, organizing social outings, etc…
They are also scholars who aspire to gain new knowledge and experience.
Which means they need YOUR attention in return.
Your knowledge, your experience and advice.
It’s called mentorship.
▫️
There are no lazy students.
There are students who lack proper support.

It was my pleasure to present my @3MT_official at our @FlindersCFI knowledge exchange event. It was lovely to get support from everyone and I am lucky to work in this iSuport project, led by Professor Lily Xiao @FlindersCNHS
Congratulations to @LilyDongxiaXiao and her team for this well deserved success to build upon the great work they do for CALD dementia carers #CaringFutures#CFImpact
