@emailmyremail The site is down right now as I'm transferring to Square Space BUT I’m also taking a little pause as it doesn't seem highly wanted! I have raised 5k but it's incredibly slow going & I'm not sure Nashville is ready for a public-private sidewalk fund. What do you say?
@emailmyremail I don’t but would love see photos of the process & details of your experience. I believe anyone who does walkways or driveways could be helpful & provide a quote
Remember to keep your recycling free of any contamination during the holiday season. These rules apply curbside, at our recycling drop-offs, and convenience centers.
Please call hubNashville at 311, if you have any questions.
@WSMV@NashTheTraffic Great tree-lined sidewalks on roads for the health & safety of all. I see this as a basic civil right - to walk safely & comfortably - that is currently not being respected (but could be with the right leadership)
Hey Nashville, want sidewalks? As of today, when you shop @AmazonSmile, Amazon will make a donation to The Sidewalk Foundation of Nashville. Please click this unique link & help Nashville become the best walking city in the south! https://t.co/lwm1Sc3Jda
1.5 blocks from elementary school, it’s UNFAIR to ask to NOT BUILD/NOT CONTRIBUTE to in-lieu fee for sidewalks. Frankly, I'm tired of this!!! Shoot email to: [email protected] & politely tell them, ’No way, NASHVILLE NEEDS SIDEWALKS’. Variance request 2019-136, 3505 Elkins
I'm hearing through the grapevine that this variance request was denied at the 1p BZA meeting today. Great news - so important to stand up for sidewalks, Nashville & public schools!!!
Found on Foot...Nashville is a creative city. ‘Before Miriam Toews can sit down to write, she needs to walk. Something about the body in motion limbers up the mind and suggests that it should get moving, too.’ We can support our artists more: we can build sidewalks.
@capntransit I’m emailing the paper now as the use of ‘trail’ is ambiguous. First read: legal hurdle related to trail (re: chipped) creation but sounds like more about property litigation.
Photo speaks to our perceived SAFETY in Nashville while on foot: ~10 yo boy, daddy trailing behind in SUV, hazard lights, while on a run. It broke my heart a little bit to see. It speaks VOLUMES to how Nashvillians perceive our safety while out walking. And, it’s not good.
@capntransit Thank you for sharing! I’ve been told a hard NO by Planning due to risk of lawsuits/ADA concerns BUT maybe this sets a new precedent? I love idea that path would also work as placeholder to limit hardscaping in right-of-way!
@prnewmansr Don’t like traffic? Build sidewalks! Nashville has a paltry 20% of roadways with sidewalks. The Sidewalk Foundation needs YOUR help to reduce traffic, improve health, improve safety & make it a bit more fun around here!
