By far the most accurate post I’ve seen about how Iranians around the world feel, including myself. Please stop lecturing us and take a moment to read this.
“A lot of people outside Iran are watching what's unfolding and are shocked by one thing in particular:
that Iranians will feel relief, even joy, when a violent dictator falls. Whether you like it or not, that reaction is real. It comes from lived experience.
After 45+ years of being hunted, tortured, disappeared, executed, and massacred, the collapse of the machinery that did it doesn't feel "complicated." It feels like a breath. A moment of air.
And no, celebrating the fall of a dictator doesn't mean Iranians are naïve about what's next. People inside Iran understand the aftermath better than anyone commenting from the safety of a democracy.
They understand how dangerous transitions are. They understand the risk of chaos, revenge, and power vacuums. They knew from the beginning that you can't topple a regime like this with empty hands. They have paid for every peaceful route with blood.
So here's what some need to hear:
If you've been absent for 45+ years, if you ignored the massacres, the executions, the prisons, the disappearances, the rapes and only found your voice from the safety of a free country because Iranian suffering finally fits your political framework...
then you do not get to arrive now and speak with certainty. You don't get to lecture Iranians with theories as if your analysis is the truth.
Because what's happening isn't a debate. It's survival.
And Iranians don't need permission to feel relief when their oppressor falls, even while they brace for the frightening road ahead.
Listen to Iranians. Amplify them.
Centre the victims, and not your worldview.
And stop regurgitating regime propaganda.”
So many non-iranians giving wild takes on our country and what we want without knowing anything was fun to see today on this platform.
You fuckers finally decided to open your mouths today of all days. Not last week or last month? Fuck off bozos everyone can see through your bs
Dear Iranians abroad,
Your large and remarkable marches in recent days, in all corners of the world, from Australia to across Europe, to Canada and the United States, have given strength and hope to our brave compatriots in our occupied homeland.
Your voice is the voice of the Iranian nation.
I am grateful and appreciative.
Today, at a time when the Islamic Republic, through ruthless killings and martial law, has raised the cost of people taking to the streets in Iran, your responsibility to rally international support for our compatriots is heavier than ever. The importance of your role is greater than at any time before. The continuation of your activities is necessary and essential, and they must be broader, more coordinated, more cohesive, and more purpose-driven.
As I announced at my recent press conference in Washington, we have six current demands of the international community.
All activities by Iranians abroad, whether gatherings, sit-ins, and marches, or engagement and correspondence with decision-makers and lawmakers, or informing the public through the media and online networks, must be focused around these six demands:
i) Protect the people of Iran by weakening the regime’s machinery of repression, especially by targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), its commanders, its command structure, and its infrastructure.
ii) Maximum economic pressure by blocking the regime’s assets around the world and targeting its clandestine network of oil tankers, known as the “shadow fleet.”
iii) Provide internet for Iran through Starlink and other secure communications tools, and disable the regime’s ability to shut down the internet.
iv) Expel the regime’s diplomats and pursue legal action against perpetrators of crimes against humanity.
v) The immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners.
vi) Prepare for a democratic transition in Iran and recognize a legitimate transitional government.
I ask all of you to remain united under Iran’s Lion and Sun flag, a flag that tens of thousands of brave Iranians have sacrificed their lives to raise again.
Set aside personal differences.
Avoid parallel efforts and separate programs in the same city.
Align and coordinate your efforts so they are more effective.
Remember that, in the eyes of the world, you are representatives of the great Iranian nation. Your conduct must be worthy, civilized, and consistent with the ethics and culture of Iran.
My team and I are closely following your coordinated activities. Soon, programs related to the “Global Day of Action and Solidarity with Iran’s National Uprising” will be announced.
The eyes of our honorable compatriots in Iran, who are bound under the occupying regime of the Islamic Republic, are on us. Let us join hands so their suffering may end sooner, and so they may reach the day of freedom and prosperity they deserve.
That day is closer than ever.
Long live Iran!
Mark Levin: Do you hear them America?
Thank you @marklevinshow for this. I believe most Americans are hearing them, and know that these are their friends and allies being slaughtered by the mutual enemy. If there was any case to get involved in the past few decades, it is this!
