a year ago today, I saw my first Alpine Swifts in the UK, in Lincolnshire, having dipped the species twice before. Every new bird after that is simply a "bonus"... @jahanlon2@jonnycaribouthe@Jon_Heath_
⚠️ In just the first full week of our bird protection camp in Cyprus our teams have found and shut down 12 active trapping sites with limesticks.
5 poachers prosecuted, 142 limesticks seized & 17 birds released unharmed inc this beautiful young red-backed shrike!
Pleasing to report now the breeding season has finally ended that Holkham produced 90 fledged Spoonbills from 46 nests this year, another record number.

Just watched next door neighbour walk around her garden spraying all her flowers (including Clematis which will attract loads of insects) with bug killer and around her windows. Follows on from a mysterious die off of our plants along our shared fence line 😡😡😡
My feed is filled with devastating pictures like this from all over the country. Seems like the mass death of our rivers ecosystems as knew them. This is why we did what we do, these animals have no voice other than ours to help them . All for greedy shaeholders. A sad week.
This is my local river, where I swim with my teenage girls
Last year 7 children were seriously ill from swimming in the River Kennet
How long before a child dies at the hands of @thameswater?!🤬
