What a disastrous run. Two soft reboots in less than 8 years. One meant to fix the other, both falling flat on their face. Ending on a stunt casting cliffhanger that may never be resolved.
What production company is gonna be stupid enough to pick up the mantle now? #DoctorWho
BREAKING 🚨 #DoctorWho has been cancelled for now by the BBC, with a decision to put the show out to tender. The announced Christmas special will no longer go ahead.
Russell T. Davies has also confirmed his departure from the show.
The BBC shared:
Doctor Who remains an important part of the BBC and this tender underpins the BBC’s continued commitment to Doctor Who ensuring audiences will enjoy the show for years to come.
After careful consideration, the BBC, Russell T Davies and Bad Wolf have collectively decided not to go ahead with the previously announced Doctor Who Christmas episode. This decision was not taken lightly, and we know it will be disappointing for fans, but in order to set the show up for future series, it was decided that rather than bridge the gap with a one off special, we are choosing to push forward to invest in the long-term future of the show which ensures that when the TARDIS lands once more, it does so in all its glory.
RTD shared:
And so GOODBYE from me to Doctor Who but HELLO to a big new future for the show, as the BBC announces it's putting the show out to tender. As a result, there won't be a Christmas Special - we only cooked that up to guarantee a future when no one knew what would happen, but now we do know, there's no need for it. You'll have to wait a bit longer for new Doctor Who... but you'll be waiting for MORE Doctor Who than a one-off. So it's worth it! For the record: there was no script, I never wrote it, and no actor was ever approached to play the next Doctor. You may disagree; fine, sit in that chair and wait to be proved right. You'll wait a lonnng time. Now I'm as excited as anyone to see what comes next! Will they keep the theme tune? Will they lose the blue box? Will they bring back the Drahvin?! It's all up for grabs, which is so Doctor Who, exciting and unpredictable and new! Here comes the future, vworp vworp.
Netflix had a real chance to become a proper movie studio and actually contribute to healing the industry.
Releasing in theatres to a paying audience is the only business model that makes sense. Instead, they're digging their heels in the sand while the tide is coming in.
Netflix film chief Dan Lin has reaffirmed that they will not work with directors who want theatrical releases.
“There is a group of filmmakers who still want theatrical. Those are filmmakers that we’ve accepted we just won’t work with.”

#ScaryMovie is out of touch, out of time and all out of jokes. The biggest crime here isn't even its eye rolling anti-wokeness. It's that it's lazy, trite, dull and aggressively unfunny. The least amount of laughs I've ever heard during a comedy movie. ★½ https://t.co/apvbVFwfx4
Sure, if you judge Baby Yoda The Movie: A Baby Yoda Story as a real film then yeah it is very bad... BUT if you just sit back and think of it as a couple of episodes of a TV show strung together that you get to watch on the big screen, then it is also very bad.
I came to see them commit to the death of The Mandalorian or Grogu, instead I saw the life drain from a franchise I once loved, as they committed a crime against cinema. #TheMandalorianAndGrogu
#TheMandalorianAndGrogu is soulless, emotionless, boring, corporate slop. It exists for no reason and has no point to make. It is effectively three episodes of TV filler stitched together and blown up into IMAX. A complete waste of time and money. ★½ https://t.co/6QTFwlolBs
A total disregard for audience intellect and an exploitation of fans' love and respect for this franchise. Favreau and Filoni should be ejected from the driver's seat of Star Wars and have their keys removed. #TheMandalorianAndGrogu

A cast of actors that generate no enthusiasm, warmth or life into any performance. And cinematography so flat and uninteresting it's practically begging you to look at your phone. #TheMandalorianAndGrogu

“Therapuss” host Jake Shane is facing online backlash for asking Kacey Musgraves to explain a lyric about time zones from her 2018 track “Slow Burn":
“My favorite line from that song, obviously, is ‘Sun’s going down, but in Beijing, they’re headed out to work.’ What do you mean by that? Me and Manny, who I work with, debate it every single day.”

#MortalKombatII puts the bad in badass! ★★½
Johnny 'Fucking' Cage might be pretty fucking lame, but if you like lots of punching and kicking, then this movie is pretty fucking cool — if you ignore just how bad almost every other part of it is. https://t.co/m41mVgLor7
