In RE this week we have been consolidating our learning of Sikhism by visiting our local Sikh temple. We learnt more about the 5k’s and how the temple welcomes all people and religions around the world.@foxfield@FoxfieldRE
This week we have a new theme in our wonder box. We will be looking at religious artefacts related to Ramadan and Eid, and learning about who and how people celebrate @foxfield@FoxfieldRE
Here at Foxfield we value our children and their beliefs. Our Prayer Space gives them the opportunity to reflect with others and to learn more about different beliefs. The children have thrived during the activities and it's wonderful to see the all the collaboration. @foxfield
@foxfield Year 1 visited the Hindu temple in Woolwich where we found out lots of facts about Hinduism. We saw lots of statues and found out that Hindus believe in one god who is represented in different ways.@FoxfieldRE
Today in RE we learnt about Lent and using up left over food to make pancakes 🥞 We practised our requesting and communication skills and life skills by chopping, spreading and squeezing 🍋 @foxfield
Lovely to see the children taking part with the Prayer space. They have been creating bookmarks which they can share with others or use for when they read.
In Year 1 they have been learning about when Mary and Joseph found a stable where Jesus was born. They demonstrated the school value of collaboration and took part in a role play which they shared with the class. @Foxfield
Well done to our prayer space volunteers Muizza, Adenike and Maria from @FoxfldAcer who were fantastic during the afternoon session. They demonstrated the Foxfield values of respect and responsibility to all the children who took part in the activities. @foxfield
In RE we were learning about different religious festivals. To help build our knowledge we took part in ‘cops and robbers’. Here we wrote down what we already knew and then walked around the class to ‘steal’ what we didn’t know. @foxfield@FoxfieldRE
