I knew this Casio FP-6000 model existed, but never found one or any picture of it! May I present you the FP-6000Jr! Interestingly, it has 2x 3.5" FDD embedded on the main unit. It was apparently only sold in The Netherlands and Scandinavia. Have you seen or heard of it ?

Super Casio fan Andrew Menadue brought this one back to life with the help of Raspberry Pi.

The video RAM replacement PCBs were designed by Andrew; each one is placed on the FX9000P board and contains one of our RP2040 microcontroller chips.

I have been lucky to acquire a RAM board for my FP-6000. I am puzzled that it has 128KB RAM instead of 256KB. This one is expandable (16 free sockets). Does anyone have a picture of a 256KB board? Half of the banks are used, could I possibly use 32KB chips instead of 8KB? #fp6000

@nemo20000 @X1turboAgency Wow that is a detective work !!! There is INDEED an option Ram board inside ! So it may have some sort of malfunction I guess - I will take it out and redo the test

I am trying to restart my vintage Casio computers this week. However when I tried to start my FP-6000, it displays some kind of error message I do not understand. It looks like Japanese, but there are funny graphic characters as well. Any help is greatly appreciated !

@X1turboAgency Removing the I/F boards is a good idea, I will try that. However, the FP-6000 is different from the FP-3000 in this precise aspect : it has no C86-Basic in ROM, it needs to be loaded from diskette.

@nemo20000 @X1turboAgency Ah yes of course ! I am mostly à software guy, so I never think about the hardware side of things ^ ^’ will try that, although I hate disassembling the 6000… so complicated !
