The Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin has just appeared in a campaign video for Putin’s United Russia party.

The Russian hockey player stands right behind Putin’s main propagandist Margarita Simonyan when Foreign Minister Lavrov gives a speech justifying the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

He also participated in a photo shoot for the same campaign together with Russian soldiers and individuals sanctioned for their complicity in the war against Ukraine.
