Let us ask Mary, Queen of Peace, to teach us to renounce hurtful words, hasty judgment, gossip, and slander. May we learn to cherish and nurture love within our families, among friends, in the workplace, on social media, in political debates, and in Christian communities, so that hatred may give way to hope and peace. #ApostolicJourney
Deep inner suffering inevitably arises when the human person is reduced to performance, consumption, or a statistical datum. Many young people today live under the yoke of expectations to perform, immersed in an exasperated competitiveness that generates anxiety, fear of not measuring up, and disorientation.
On the Feast Day of St. Isidore the Farmer, I prayed for you, your personal intentions, and world peace at St. Anthony’s Tomb. I'll remember you again this afternoon during the Holy Mass I’ll celebrate in the Basilica.Have a blessed Friday! Blessings from St. Anthony’s Basilica🤗
Yesterday was Mother’s Day and, had it not been a Sunday, the feast of St. Damien of Molokaʻi. Inspired by what Jesus did for us in His incarnation, Father Damien took on the infirmities of the lepers he tended on Molokaʻi. @thegnewsroom
We turn our gaze to Jesus, who reveals himself as King of Peace, even as war looms abounds him. He remains steadfast in meekness, while others are stirring up violence. He offers himself to embrace humanity, even as others raise swords and clubs. #GospelOfToday

On April 13, 2025, Pope Francis, though extremely fragile, still managed to greet the crowd gathered for Palm Sunday Mass in St. Peter’s Square. Faithful to his style, he encouraged everyone to live a good Holy Week. Speaking in Italian, he said: “Buona Domenica delle Palme. Buona Settimana Santa.” — “Have a good Palm Sunday. Have a good Holy Week.”
God dwells in our hearts. Every #Vocation requires us to dialogue intimately with God, with true joy and generosity. He is the One who calls and invites us to respond, despite the deafening noise of the world.

Pope Leo XIV presided at a Requiem Mass for the late Pope Francis and Cardinals and Bishops who have died over the past year, praying that their souls “might be washed from every stain” and that they may “shine like stars in the sky.”
Although we are saddened by the death of loved ones, and even scandalized at the death of innocents “carried off by illness, or worse, by human violence,” the Pope explained, Christians nonetheless continue to hope.
It is this “new Paschal hope,” he said, that Pope Francis, as well as the Cardinals and Bishops who have died throughout the year, “lived, witnessed, and taught.”
Today marks World Mission Sunday. The Church is entirely missionary, but today we pray especially for those men and women who have left everything to bring the Gospel to those who do not yet know it. They are missionaries of hope among the nations. May the Lord bless them!
🕊️ Today the Church remembers the Passion of St. John the Baptist.
John lived in the wilderness, preaching repentance and baptizing to prepare the way for the Messiah. ✝️
But when he spoke the truth about King Herod’s unlawful marriage, he was thrown into prison. On Herod’s birthday, Herodias’ daughter danced before him — and at her mother’s urging, demanded John’s head on a platter.
Though Herod feared John’s followers, he kept his promise… and the prophet who prepared the way for Christ was martyred.
🙏 St. John the Baptist, pray for us!
Today, the universal Church celebrates the liturgical memorial of the martyrdom of Saint John the Baptist. His example can help us reflect on the mission of modern evangelizers. The key to every school of evangelization is to bear witness to what we contemplate and our encounter with the God of life.
Cardinal Pizzaballa warns that Satan seeks dominion even in the Holy Land—where Christ walked—yet offers hope in Mary’s Assumption and the victory of life over evil.

During the Mass at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria della Rotonda, Pope Leo challenged everyone to not leave Christ outside the churches, homes, and lives, but rather welcome Him in those around us, especially the poor.

Today we wish to entrust our prayer for peace to the intercession of the Virgin Mary, assumed into heaven. As a Mother, she suffers for the evils that afflict her children, especially the little ones and the weak.
The situation of the Haitian people is increasingly desperate. There are constant reports of murders, violence of all kinds, human trafficking, forced exile, and kidnappings. I make a heartfelt appeal to all responsible to release the hostages immediately, and I ask for the concrete support of the international community in creating social and institutional conditions that will allow Haitians to live in peace
Let us continue to pray for an end to all wars. The 80th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki has reawakened throughout the world a rightful rejection of war as a means of resolving conflicts. May those who make decisions always bear in mind that they are responsible for the consequences of their choices on all peoples. May they not ignore the needs of the weakest, and the universal desire for peace.
