2: women in pregnancy have lots of rights as employees &need supportive employers. @uniofleicester HR professionals showed their passion for helping improve women's working lives from menstruation to menopause & talked thru recent changes in support for carers and parents.
Key take away messages:
1: two women who were deaf attended and discussed the huge challenges in navigating #GDM & pregnancy care- so isolating. We need to do more with improving access for all. Thank you for coming and making the time to help us understand your needs better.

I left nursing in 1991 when poor staffing on the neonatal unit I worked on scared me so much I thought babies would die as a result. How has this been allowed to continue for sooooo long despite numerous reports highlighting the issue???
3/4 “2 in 3 staff feel unable to carry out their jobs fully due to workforce shortages”. Staff on the ground are being let down by the poor state of maternity services. Underfunded services mean a workforce experiencing burn out.
