The major works to our flats by @haringeycouncil & its contractor @EQUANS_UK include new front doors.
Since each door costs over £4,000, you'd think they'd first have considered whether residents could get furniture and white goods in or out through them.
Think again.
For the 4th time this year, @haringeycouncil has cancelled a meeting with us at short notice. This time the excuse was staff being on leave.
They are desperate to avoid contact with us, because we don't like the sub-standard work they are offering for our extortionate bills.
In 2021 @haringeycouncil said our new bathroom pods, which we must pay at least £25k for, would get interiors "at no extra cost".
Now they plan to break this promise & charge us £950 for a so-called "higher specification" - i.e. not the bog standard in their show pod below [1/4]
For years @haringeycouncil told us it couldn't afford to build brick replacements for our old pods because it would have to decant us for weeks.
Instead we had to pay towards new temporary pods that would supposedly be craned in the same day as the old ones were craned out (1/3)
@perayahmet tell @NPLeaseholders how @haringeycouncil will deliver the NP regen if senior officers keep leaving & there is no continuity/accountability. Jayne S must have known she was leaving when we were let down by her for the meeting. Who will meet with us now &when?
Yet again @haringeycouncil proves itself useless at communicating. We log in for its long-scheduled meeting with leaseholders tonight and... nothing.
No cancellation email. Wasting our time, ruining our plans & giving no explanation.
Totally #unprofessional, as we now expect.
@hannahfearn We are still going through our nightmare along with @NPLeaseholders - our freeholder is Haringey Council and we have HUGE major works bills. Our is 48K, some could be over 100K. Unsellable homes mean we are all stuck!
The main effect of private schools is to give rich kids an advantage over the poorer kids.
They are tools of inequality, ensuring social injustice.
Does that sound like "charity" to you?!!?
No? Then they shouldn't have 'charitable status' or the tax breaks that come with it.
Noel Park leaseholders have seen a prototype of the "modular extension" we're being charged £25k for.
It's pretty basic for the price, with an electric heater & a shower for the waist down only.
More aptly described as a construction-site toilet?

Celebrations at @haringeycouncil over the temporary pods built by @EQUANS_UK. The link says: "Residents... have been given an insight into how their homes will be transformed."
As some of the 243 households affected, we would have welcomed a chance to view the new pod...

Two years to this day, those £100,000+ service charge estimates started dropping on Noel Park leaseholders’ doormats.
Has the work begun yet? No, of course not.
But thankfully, it does look like Haringey Council have a renewed determination to start it.
Please, no more delays.
@alexjb24 So awful. It’s such a scam. If it makes you feel any better about your leasehold related bills, I’ve got one for over £47,000 🙃 #leaseholdscandal
@Kathbum Sadly yes! It’s a total piss take. My bill is £48,000 and some @NPLeaseholders have bills over £100,000 😤 for the work that we have absolutely no say in! #fleecehold
