Today we join the world in celebrating #WorldWetlandsDay under the theme “Wetlands and Traditional Knowledge: Celebrating Cultural Heritage.”
In Rwanda, wetlands are vital for flood control, biodiversity, and livelihoods. Let’s protect them, our future depends on them.
🦜UPDATES 🦜
This Saturday, the @CoEBrwanda team participated in the International Waterbird Census at #Gatsata Wetland, assessing waterbird abundance, distribution, and population trends to inform conservation and sustainable wetland management.
✴️UPDATES ✴️
Today at @CoEBrwanda, we hosted an interactive session with Year Two students from the @UR_CoE (Biology & Chemistry in Education) and the @UR_CAVM (Forestry Conservation & Ecotourism).
2/2: They also explored the full process of herbarium work-from field collection and drying to mounting and long-term preservation of plant specimens. This hands-on experience is essential for advancing plant science, biodiversity conservation, and wildlife protection in Rwanda.
