Wonderful to see the direction of IFOMT. Person centred care is the pathway forward. Empowering people in pain. Thanks for inviting me to share our teams work. @IFOMPT

I use MRI in lower back pain 🤭
I also get asked frequently how I manage the scan follow up consults & handle patient Qs
So here is a mini-thread which gives a little comms synopsis - some may nod sagely, others may roll their eyes - that’s cool - no right or wrong.
Time to move forward and improve the exercise prescription for people with cancer.
Cracking job from the @EMRI_ECU, supervised by @ProfRobNewton, @DrChrisBishop and @lucamae1987

Extremely grateful to my supervisors who guided me to successfully defend my PhD on profiling athletes following ACLR today @anthonyturneruk@paulread1010@kostpap1 Thanks so much to @DrChrisBishop & @JordanStrength for the enjoyable discussion and taking time to examine me🙏
I am still amazed everytime I meet elite athletes in my practice who has been seen by so called world renown specialists and the treatment they have received is needling, injection of unknown substances, and being advised to get their teeth pulled out etc. for a simple groin pain issue. So much nonsense treatment at the highest level of sport - and it ain’t cheap🫣 either
Super podcast on radiculopathy, radicular and neuropathic pain with @AnninaBSchmid & @adamdobson123.
Great to hear Physios at the top of their game 👌 https://t.co/KVTrrBzsO0

L’avverbio giusto è “possibilmente” e no, non è una sega linguistica ma una faccenda di sostanza. Seguirà video a breve
After 6 months of strength training 2-3 times per week, my coach said to me:
"This is great. Now we are getting to a point where we can START lifting some weights".
I was pretty shocked.
But he was right.
And it applies to so many aspects of life.
Here's why

Stress fractures - a detailed thread 🦴🦴🦴
I thought I'd put together an overview & some clinical nuggets from the 'coal-face'
First up, I prefer to call them 'bone stress injuries' - majority don't have a # line on imaging & the language can be scary / nocebic for some
The extraordinary thing is - the guidelines advocate person-centred care that considers the multi-dimensional complexity of a persons presentation.... yet there almost NO research exploring the clinical reasoning processes that underpin this process. No wonder clinicians get lost
It was a pleasure to host @ProfRobNewton again for a workshop about Exercise Medicine in Chronic Disease Management. Exercise is the most under-prescribed drug despite its multiple and well-known effects. @movepordenone
