You kinda have to commit to 20 shitty videos.
Additionally, just film your thoughts to find your voice. The biggest thing that frustrated me was seeing myself try to replicate other successful channels instead of speaking like I speak. So I filmed just random thoughts and then that bled into my more focused videos.
Just do it homie, you got valuable stuff to share. It's fun to look back on too.
remarkable insights happen when you start to appreciate your past self year by year
you fucked things up, you were overconfident, you were underconfident, mistakes happened
but year by year, you tried, and you’re here still trying
appreciate every former version of yourself and you’ll feel a strength and conviction previously locked away
i’m unemployable as fuck because i’m fucking AWAKE. i’m a person with thoughts and things to say and i notice when things are off… my only choice is to work for myself, really.
This cost me years of underestimating myself.
Born optimistic, ambitious, and charming.
Surrounded by small minded opportunists through dumb luck
Then actually repeated the pattern (like an abused chasing an abuser)
Now finally seeing the joke
“Some people are magnetic in the right rooms and crucified in the wrong ones.
The same presence that draws the right people in, feels threatening to anyone committed to staying ordinary.
**Average environments punish anything above average**
Sometimes you’re not too much. The room is simply too small for you.
Find a bigger room.”
General rules for getting your spark back:
- Create a list of things that give you energy and a list that drains you of energy. Make it impossible to participate in draining tasks (like doomscrolling)
- Understand that momentum takes time. Even if you don't feel enjoyment immediately, feel good that you're building momentum
- Don't fixate on what you *need* to do; do things that you are curious about. Lean on intuition
- Instead of focusing on a "to-do" list, focus on a "done" list. Write down everything you accomplished no matter how small
- Don't force yourself to do things; just give yourself the option to do something constructive or simply do nothing at all
