@TulipaDev 1 way to draw shapes is toggle line on, & as you drag the line, scroll up/down to change type. most are line types but there are also some basic shapes in there.
line/shape works best when you edit more than 1 tile at a time. drag the corner of the tile editor to expand it.
Yeah, the code is still atrocious, but this starts to look and feel like a lot of fun.
I had to disable the sprite limit for this video, because I can't guarantee yet the drone's flight path won't overlap on the x-axis.
Love the chaos, though. #NESDev
Jauntyman and the Three Pigs is a brand new action puzzler, still in development by Spadix for the NES! 🐖

Working on the Frozen Caves area in my upcoming NES adventure game Halcyon.
My theory is that it wouldn't be proper to have a retro action-adventure without separate Ice and Lava areas.

Just reposting that a new minor version of NEXXT studio is out. It's the tool i make almost all of my NES assets in.

i'm going to get in the habit of double-posting important news since it's only a blip on the radar. Hope you don't mind.
NEXXT 3.6.4 is up (the tool i make most of my NES graphics & levels in).
A minor update, but featuring a much time-saving improvement to how metatiles work, along with the usual polishing and fixing user reported issues.

I'm looking for a person.
Does anybody remember the name/social media of the artist/dev that made amazing TMS9918 mode 2 gfx? Colecovision, msx etc.
My vague memory would describe it head over heels/solstice-like, but richly detailed and each scene rather full of unique stuff

@CloudZur it’s worth noting the nes doesn’t need libs in the same regard more recent game dev might. the hardware acceleration of the ppu and the apu is your ”library”, in a manner of speaking.
@CloudZur cc65 (c) and ca65 (asm) mostly. asm6f is more lightweight for small projects and unit tests but bigger projects benefit from ca65’s versatility. llvm-mos is an alternative to cc65z
there aren’t many libraries, but nesfab is a combined language and library. neslib is another.
