I just finished watching Laura Loomer's interview with President Zelenskyy. Despite her repeatedly trying to steer the conversation in strange directions, focusing more on American culture wars than the actual war, Zelenskyy conveyed Ukraine's position well and managed to make several very important points.

You may find Laura's questions about russian propaganda points insulting, but it gives Zelenskyy a good opportunity to debunk them.

It is definitely worth watching.

I didn’t expect much from Laura Loomer’s interview with President Zelensky, so I wasn’t disappointed.

On one hand, the interview was at times comical. Some of the questions were straight out of the russian propaganda playbook. But to Loomer’s credit, she would point out that these were propaganda points she wanted to debunk – so it wasn’t a setup or a hit piece.

At the same time, it was typical MAGA advocacy. She tried to hint that Trump is the best president in U.S. history and tried to get Zelensky to say it. He didn’t – which is good.

What gives me mixed feelings is the bigger pattern. I’d love to believe some MAGA loyalists are genuinely having a change of heart – Loomer, and now Tim Pool, another huge influencer who spent years calling Ukraine an enemy and is suddenly posting that Ukraine is “fighting for its very existence against an evil dictator.” But it’s hard to ignore that this shift lines up neatly with the election season and the incentive to sway people into the MAGA camp: “See, we support Ukraine, we’re standing against russian propaganda” – even though one of the biggest amplifiers of russian talking points has been Trump himself.

So, mixed feelings overall. But I’m still glad that at least some genuine MAGA followers may be having a real turn of heart toward Ukraine.

I visited a mass grave at St. Andrew’s Church in Bucha several days ago where hundreds of women and children were murdered by Russians in 2022. They wouldn’t even let families bury their loved ones, and they threw all of the bodies into a ditch.

Today, Russia launched ballistic missiles in the Bucha area once again, targeting civilians.

They killed 10 people today, 76 adults were wounded, and 2 children were wounded.

2 of these people were Polish and 1 was a foreign diplomat.

This is terrorism.

At the first-ever European AI Olympiad, Team Ukraine finished 2nd overall among 24 countries and won two gold medals.

Roman Mielamud became the absolute champion of the competition, achieving the highest overall score among all 94 participants.

This is what Ukraine is fighting for - not just its freedom today, but its future. Despite daily missile attacks, Ukrainian students continue to compete with - and outperform - the best young minds in Europe.

Congratulations to the students, their families, coaches, and mentors. Ukraine’s greatest resource has always been its people.
