@cohen_pena those of a thousand poets. I look forward to any other heterodoxic myths, songs or stories you come across. But I warn you, never trust them

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

@cohen_pena Heresy so beautiful as this I have never seen. While I would never state so publicly, writings such as these tell our tale more truly than

You gaze wounds me, it burns me, it destroys me

My love, if you love me, look away - Canticle of the Lover's Foley

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

My love,
Don’t look upon me as the Hound the Hare
Or the Hare the Flower
Or the Flower the Sun
With fury, with hunger, with indifference

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

My love
I look upon you as the Dair upon the Mab
Or the Mab upon an Og
Or the Ogs upon the Dair
with love, with compassion, with reverence

Take shade, my child, in my broad branches, for I am strong that you may stay whole in your weakness -Excerpt from Hymns of the Holly

@Rontath It is a local dueling club for scholars, skeptics and inquiring minds. We better ourselves by bettering our understanding and vice versa

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

@Rontath Have you considered joining the Tome and Tower? While admittedly light on dueling, we do debate issues of natural philosophy such as this.

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

@Rontath To wit- We can be sure that out inability to understand Gobbin is a limiting factor in our use of their magic, but the specifics are murky.

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

@Rontath must be perfectly aligned to get proper results. Unlike sacred geometry, in writing Gobbin one is not protected by mathematical laws.

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

@Rontath As for why we can't use it, it is likely an intersection of language and magic. As with sacred geometry, form, function and intention...

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

@Rontath ethics of studying Gobbins are particularly dicey as mistakes could result in the cessation of that Gobbin's lineage.

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

@Rontath pixies not withstanding. Whether this is owing to the magical or physiological elements of their biology is not currently known and the...

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

@Rontath linguistically unique in other areas. For example, it is well documented that they acquire language much more rapidly than any other fey...

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

@Rontath This is an excellent question! Also one that is difficult to answer given our current understandings of biology and language. Gobbins are...

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

@Rontath I suspect that this is why non-Gobbins can't learn Gobbin, the language processing bit of our brains are not structured to process it

[Franz Nibbley @FranzNibbley]

@Rontath 'taste' is the syntactic head, as it is the bit the rest of the phrase supports. I just can't find them in Gobbin, just thematic clusters.
