#artchallenge day 4/10 nominated by @mara_moora today I nominate @dazza1639 a must follow folks master at astrophotography
Here is my version of the elephant trunk nebula - I’m no master by any means but I tried hope y’all like it.
@isastroatelier Great plan! I love shooting mono, I also have a rig setup with a color camera but my go to is the mono. So much better in my opinion. Clear skies to you as well!!
@isastroatelier Hi Isa,
I did a process of elimination by stacking without Bias (still has problem) then I took out bias and flats (still has issue) then took darks out and it stacked. I put back flats and it stacked, I put back darks, had issue.
Gonna reshoot them and see what happens. Thanks!!
This is giving me so much trouble in getting it processed. I think my calibration frames are messed up as I can not input the stacked images Ha, Sii and Oiii to the RGB channels. Anyway here’s the Ha data.
@RayM5666 Beautiful work Ray, when I imaged this target I was able to get 35 hours which brought the squid out from hiding. I feel like I could have used more time.
@Simon78256916 Hi Simon,
The Horsehead and the Orion nebulas were taken at different times, via my Astro gear, I used 20 minute exposures for both but you do what you normally do with your images then I took a serious of images of the constellation with my canon SL3 wide angle kit lens.
@Simon78256916 Sorry I realized I may have confused you by saying I created new layers, I only created one new layer to past the other two images over the Orion constellation image.
@Simon78256916 Once I processed the constellation in photoshop I created a new layers over the Orion image, I then opened the other two nebula files in photoshop and resized the canvas to a smaller size. Copied each one and pasted in the new layer, rotating them.
@Simon78256916 Great question - I use 3nm never used 7nm not because of any reason. My guiding is under .30 at times but not all the time, last night I was .47 until the dew caught me - forgot to turn it on! lol
Clear Skies!!!
@KevinAstrokev Looks great Kevin, I don’t remember my integration time on this, however it was done with 1200” exposures for at least three nights for SHO filters - it’s a tough target!! I didn’t take flats and should have!
@StevieNicks 50 years in a snap! I truly hope that you spent that time in tremendous happiness. Life is so short we are truly blessed to be living out of all the other possibilities we are the ones here. Thanks for sharing the letter as well as your sacrifice for your music to us!
