@margybargy1@vernalscott Police officers are proud to wear their uniform. The helmet is for head protection and visibility for patrolling officers. Neither of those is afforded by the flat hat.
@mick63daf@vernalscott One small bit of engagement, (that would stop as soon as there was an emergency), may open up conversions that prevent a murder or similar. Engaging the community is how crimes are prevented and lives saved. Well done that officer!
@RamblingNewbie I really feel for you. The start of your career should be about getting to know your ground and arrests. Used to be a thing called street duties, 10 weeks after 18 at Hendon. I'm sure the powers that be know best though!
This reminds me of London Firefighter’s in the Blitz in #WW2, what Churchill described as “Heroes with grimy faces”. Ukrainian Firefighter’s plunged into a war doing their duty no matter what, as you’d expect. May God bless and protect them and their Countrymen. #Ukraine
@DerbyshireARU Number 1 is the one that was pointed at the police and they shot the offender twice. Police rightly found in the right, although the gun is not live firing.
@ShiftCopUK Tough decision to make, but you need to do what is right for you. I left after 18 years and don't regret it one bit. Check out 'Blue Light Leavers' on Facebook. Loads of useful information and a podcast. Good luck.
