This particular standard, engineered from @LayerZero_Core allows assets like $frxUSD and $sfrxUSD to be minted and redeemed natively across multiple blockchains.
Without creating wrapped versions or isolated liquidity on each chain, OFT maintains a consistent asset model that can operate across multiple networks.

When assets move between chains, supply is reduced on the source chain and created on the destination chain, ensuring supply remains consistent at all times.
As well, Fraxtal plays a central role in this structure by acting as the execution environment where Frax assets are issued and coordinated.

Through the OFT standard, Frax assets are available across more than 20 blockchains.
This includes both EVM and non-EVM chains, all connected through the same mint-and-redeem logic.

But how does sfrxUSD earns its inbuilt yield?

sfrxUSD is the yield-bearing, staked version of $frxUSD, @Fraxβs Genius compliant stablecoin.
While frxUSD is designed to function as a reliable digital dollar for payments and settlement, sfrxUSD is built for users who want their digital dollars to remain productive over time.
By staking frxUSD, users receive sfrxUSD, a token that automatically captures and compounds yield within the token itself, without requiring active strategy management or manual reallocation.

Both frxUSD and sfrxUSD are fully natively mint- and redeemable across 20+ blockchains through their integration with @LayerZero_Core.
Within this setup, capital is allocated across three main yield sources, including Carry Trade strategies, AMO strategies, and strategies that generate yield from tokenized US Treasury Bills.

To understand how this works in practice, it helps to look at each strategy individually:
In Carry Trade strategies, sfrxUSD capital is deployed to take advantage of interest rate differences across lending markets.
Capital is sourced where borrowing rates are relatively low and deployed into higher-yielding lending environments, with the resulting rate spread generating returns that flow back into sfrxUSD as inbuilt yield.
AMO strategies focus on actively deploying sfrxUSD capital across DeFi protocols, such as lending markets or liquidity pools, in a controlled manner. These deployments are managed by the protocol and continuously refined over time, with all generated returns routed back into the token.
T-Bill yield adds a real-world component by allocating a portion of the backing capital to tokenized US Treasury Bills. These short-term government instruments generate interest and help anchor sfrxUSD returns beyond purely crypto-native yield sources.

All returns from these strategies are aggregated and reflected directly in sfrxUSD through a steadily increasing token value.

Today we are taking a closer look at sfrxUSD, the yield-bearing version of $frxUSD, designed for users who want their digital dollars to remain productive while staying fully usable across onchain finance.
Built on frxUSD
sfrxUSD represents the staked version of frxUSD, meaning that instead of holding a payment stablecoin, users hold a token that continuously captures and compounds the yield generated by the underlying reserves, without requiring manual staking.
frxUSD is structured to align with the GENIUS Act framework.
Institutional-grade backing
frxUSD is backed by real-world assets, such as tokenized T-Bills and other cash equivalents, that are managed through established institutional partners such as @BlackRock, @WisdomTreeFunds, @Securitize, @SuperstateInc, and more, providing a secure and transparent backing structure which sfrxUSD builds upon.
In-built yield
sfrxUSD earns yield by using staked frxUSD in carry trades, DeFi operations, and reserve interest, and this yield shows up as a rising value of sfrxUSD over time.
Cross-chain native
sfrxUSD is natively available across multiple blockchains through integration with @LayerZero_Core, enabling users to hold and deploy yield-bearing dollars wherever onchain activity takes place.
DeFi integration
sfrxUSD remains fully composable across DeFi, allowing it to be used in lending markets, liquidity pools, and other onchain strategies while continuing to accumulate yield in the background.
