Holy shit.
Ever wonder how SPX did after
▪ A Friday where both SPX and QQQ
▪ Gapped down and never even touched Thursday's low
▪ Plus, VIX was above 15.00
How bout them 20d draw downs?
I prefer selling monthly options over weekly ones for four key reasons that are backed by data.
𝟭. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲
With weekly options, gamma risk is a silent killer. As the expiration date gets closer, gamma accelerates, which makes your position incredibly sensitive to price changes.
This forces you to be perfect with your timing and predictions. Monthly options, on the other hand, give you a longer time horizon.
This slows down gamma's effect and gives you more breathing room if you don't nail the direction of the stock perfectly.
𝟮. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘆 𝗜𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲
Everyone loves to show those steep theta decay curves, but that's for at-the-money (ATM) options. Out-of-the-money (OTM) weeklies often bleed theta at a snail's pace as expiration approaches. This flattens out the decay and eats away at your time-value edge.
Monthly options have weeks to unwind, which delivers consistent decay. This keeps the premium clock ticking steadily in your favor.
𝟯. 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆
The distribution curves for weekly options are incredibly tight. If you put on an OTM position, any small movement can bring you dangerously close to being at-the-money.
Monthly options stretch those curves out, giving you a wider statistical buffer. You're not just selling premium; you're buying a larger margin of safety.
𝟰. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝗦𝗺𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗲
Weekly options are a trader's treadmill. They demand constant monitoring, expose you to relentless volatility, and create pressure as expiration nears.
Monthlies allow you to step back, ride broader market cycles, and tune out the short-term noise. Precision is overrated when time is on your side.
❌ Lewis Miley will miss the remaining three matches after fracturing his fibula. He sustained the injury to his lower right leg during training on Tuesday.
He will see specialist consultant on before continuing his rehabilitation & is expected to return for the start of pre-season.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, @LewisMiley1 🙏

@Gigantic@Biggmb1982@doddleoddle@Gigantic what’s the update with this please? I emailed 3 days ago still nothing. Surely you have some general advice you can issue with the volume of queries about ticket transfer?
