If you want to understand what is going on in the little minds of Abiy and his PP disciples, all you have to do is visit Horn Review. This week, there is a Q&A article featuring Bacha Debele and Blen Mamo Diriba. It is obvious they are using Bacha Debele’s name for sensational effect; otherwise, everyone knows he did not provide these answers. To me, it reads more like Blen interviewing Blen!

In that short interview, the word “#Eritrea” is mentioned 34 times and the name “Isaias” 9 times. Here is one statement that gives you a flavour of the article:

“...And that brings us to Isaias Afwerki. The #Eritrean dictator, whom I consider to be behind this entire drama, is pursuing an agenda that is in no form or shape consonant with the interests of these seven groups.”

I know Blen Mamo likes to use randomly assembled, inflated words and phrases in her articles. Horn Review is full of them.

But the objective is obvious: they are trying to frame Eritrea for the colossal mess Abiy has created in #Ethiopia. And his main sponsor (#UAE) and others are hopping to use the inferno in the Horn of Africa as a smokescreen to invade Eritrea's coastal territory.

The PP’s main downfall is that they seem to think they are far cleverer than everyone else and they can get away with wagging war after war after war. Sooner or later, PP is going fall flat in their face, and we all hope that day Ethiopia is not burned down beyond repair.

#Eritrea's delegation, led by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh, is participating in the 81st UN General Assembly Debate. The delegation will conduct, throughout the Session, a series of crucial bilateral and high-level meetings reflecting Eritrea's steadfast commitment to the principles of the UN Charter & international law, inclusive and equitable multilateralism, and a just world order.

In this vein, FM Osman Saleh met yesterday UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for extensive discussions on vital regional and global matters. The Foreign Minister conveyed Eritrea's appreciation for the SG's services to the Organization and for his constructive engagement with Eritrea.

FM Osman further underlined the enduring importance of the UN Charter and the foundational pillars that it espouses - i.e. sovereign equality, territorial integrity, political independence, non-interference and the peaceful settlement of disputes.

FM Osman elucidated Eritrea's position on the Sudan that is anchored on support to a united, sovereign and stable Sudan; and a Sudanese-owned, inclusive political process supported by regional and international mechanisms.

On the wider region and especially in regard to the security of the Red Sea and Bab-al Mandab, FM Osman stressed Eritrea's support for safe maritime navigation and international cooperation, while respecting the sovereignty and legitimate interests of the littoral States. FM Osman also dwelt on provocative acts of Ethiopia's Prosperity Party towards its neighbours in flagrant breach of the foundational principles of the UN Charter and international law.

As it will be recalled, Eritrea was elected as one of the Vice-Presidents of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly. In this respect, Ambassador Sophia Tesfamariam presided over the evening plenary debate, during the opening day of UNGA81, on behalf of Eritrea and in her capacity as VPGA.

The US has finally removed the unilateral sanctions on Eritrea today.

Congratulations to the people and Government of #Eritrea for their steadfastness, resilience, and principled approach that made this development a reality.

The unilateral sanctions imposed on Eritrea by the Biden Administration in 2021 were unwarranted and caused undue damage on Eritrea. Now that they have been removed, we welcome this positive gesture and corrective measures taken by the Trump Administration.

Today’s move by the US should mark the beginning of a new chapter in the Eritrea-US relations, that we envision to be grounded in #sovereign respect, mutual interests, and the pursuit of a mutually beneficial #partnership. 🇪🇷🇺🇸

ፕረዚደንት ኣብ መወዳእታ፡ ስድራን ቤተ-ሰብን ከምኡ ከኣ፡ ሚ/ሪ ትምህርትን ኣብ ኣካድምያዊ ጉዕዞ ትምህርትን ዝግባእ ምክትታልን ደገፍን ክገብሩ፡ ምዝኽኻር ዘይድልዮ ግድነት ከም ዝዀነ’ውን ኣተሓሳሲቡ። ተመረቕቲ ኣብ ዘካይድዎ ዘይሕለል ትግሃት ዓወት ክትጓናጸፉ ስድራን ሕብረተ-ሰብን መምህራንን ኣለይትን’ውን ኣሳልጦን ሰናይ ምንዮቱን ገሊጹ።

ድሕሪ’ቲ ንምርኢት ዝቐረበ ስሙር ምረሻ፡ “ሳዋ” ዘርእስታ ደርፊ ብቋንቋ ትግራይት ብድምጻዊ መንእሰይ መንሱር ሳልሕ ቀሪባ። ብምቕጻል፡ ብሕብሪ ባንዴራ ኤርትራ ዝወቀበ ልዕሊ 1400 ተመረቕቲ ዝሓዘ መራሒ ወተሃደራዊ ሰልፊ እዩ ንምርኢት ቀሪቡ። ሰልፈኛታት ነቲ ብኽቡር መስዋእቲ ዝረኸብናዮ ባሕርና ዝገልጽ፡ “ባሕርና ርስትና” ዝብል ቅርጺ ጽሑፍ ብዘደንቕ ጥበብ ኣቚሞም። ድምጾም ክብ ኣቢሎም ድማ፡ ንሃብታም ቅርሳዊ ባሕርናን ወደባቱን ዝገልጽ ትሕዝቶ “ቀይሕ ባሕርና ንያትና፡ ክብርና፡ ኣርማና፡ ህላወና፡ ደጀንና፡ ርስትና” እናበሉ ኣድሚጾም። ከም ተረከብቲ ወለዶ መጠን ነቶም ብትዕቢትን ጠገለ ዘይብሉ ስስዕትን ዝዓበዱ ጸላእትና፡ ልቦም ዝስንጥቕ መትከላዊ መልእኽቶም ኣመሓላሊፎም። ቀጺሉ፡ ”ኤርትራውነት ዘሐብን መንነት” ብዝብል ንመንፈስ ኤርትራዊ ዘጉልሕን ንምክልኻልን መኸተን ዘንጸባርቕን ወተሃደራዊ ሰልፊ፡ ኣብ 20 ዓበይቲ ብሎካት ተመቓቒሉ ናብ ተዓዘብቲ ቀሪቡ። ጉጅለ ባህሊ ኣውላ - ሓይልታት ምክልኻል ኤርትራ እዚ ምዕራብ ነቲ ዕለት ዘንጸባርቕ መሳጢ ምርኢት ኣቕሪባ። “ኣማን ኮልዮ ሳዋ” እትብል ደርፊ ብቋንቋ ናራ ምስ ሰዓበት፡ ብቋንቋታት ብዳዌት፡ ትግርኛ፡ ሳሆ፡ ኩናማ፡ ዓፋር ንኽብሪ’ቲ ዕለተ መመረቕታ ዝተሰናደአ ሓደስቲ ደርፍታት ተር ከም ዓተር ብተለሃይቲ እናተሰነየ ቀሪቡ።

ብተወሳኺ፡ ሞኖሎጋዊ ግጥምታት፡ ብህጻን መርሃዊ ካብ መደበር ታዕሊም ሳዋን፡ ዓወት ሃብቶም ካብ እዚ ምዕራብን ተመራሪሐን ቀሪበን።

መንእሰይ ከይተማህረን ተፈቲኑ ተመኩሮ ከይቐሰመ፡ ከምኡ’ውን ብኣካልን ኣእምሮን ከይተሃንጸን ከይበሰለን፡ ኣብ ልምዓትን መኸተን ኰታ ህንጸት ሃገር ክሳተፍን ከበርክትን ስለዘይከኣል፡ መንእሰያት ብሞያን ትምህርትን ምህናጽ ሕርያ ጥራሕ ዘይኰነስ፡ ቅድመ ኩነት ምዃኑ መንግስቲ ኤርትራ ኣብ ከምዚ ዓይነት መመረቕታታት ከም እዋናዊ ኲነት ብተደጋጋሚ ገሊጽዎ እዩ። ከምኡ ስለዝዀነ ድማ እንሆ ሎሚ፡ ኣብዛ ቁራዕ ጅግንነት ዝዀነት ቦታ ዝተሃንጹ ኣሽሓት መንእሰያት እዚ ሃገር ንምረቓ በቂዖም ይርከቡ። ከም’ዚ ሎሚ ኣብ ሳዋ ፈርዩ እንርእዮ ዘለና መንእሰይ እዩ ድማ፡ ሳላ ኩሉ ቀዳምነታቱ ኣወንዚፉ ናብቲ ሃገር እትጠልቦ ዕማም ዝወፈረ፡ ሎሚ በሪኹ ንርእዮ ዘለና። እዚ ስነ-ስርዓት መመረቕታ ንመንእሰያት ዘሰክሞ ሓላፍነት ረዚን እዩ። ናብ ዝቕጽል ምዕራፍ ብዝለዓለ ናህርን ኣፍራይነትን ክስጉሙ ትምኒት ወለዶም፡ ኣለይቶምን መምህራኖምን፡ ሕብረተ-ሰቦም፡ መንግስቶም እዩ።

ሳዋ ኣብ ምዕራባዊ ዶብ ኤርትራ እትርከብ ቦታ እያ። መንእሰያት ኩሉ መዳያዊ ንቕሓቶም ከበርኽ ዝኽእል መደባት ዝካየደላ ሃገራዊት ባይቶ መንእሰያት መንእሰያት ብሃገራዊ ክብርታት፡ ኣካላዊ ብቅዓት፡ ናይ ስራሕ ባህሊን ተጻዋርነትን፡ ድስፒሊን፡ ርእሰ ምትእምማን፡ ብሓድነትን ፍቕርን ሓደ ብሓደ እትዅስኩስ ቦታ እያ። ከም ውጽኢት ናይዚ እንጠቕሶ ዘለና ድማ፡ ብሳዋ ዝሓለፈ መንእሰይ ኣብ ሃገራዊ መደባትን ልምዓትን መኸተን ብልዑል ተወፋይነት ከም ዝሳተፍ እትገብር ቅርዓት ሃገራውነት እያ። ኣብ መስርሕ ህንጸት ሃገር፡ ኣብ ዝተፈላለየ እዋናት ካብ ፈለማ ክሳብ ሕጂ በብመድረኹ ካብ ሳዋ ተመልሚሎምን ሰልጢኖምን ዝወጽኡ ኣሽሓት ኤርትራውያን መንእሰያት እኹል ምስክር እዩ። ሳዋ ዋሕስ ሃገርን መደበር ህንጸት መንእሰያት ኤርትራውያን፡ እያ። ካብ 1994 ጀሚራ ድማ፡ ብሃገሮምን ህዝቦምን ዝሕበኑ ኣሽሓት መንእሰያት፡ ኣብ ከርሳ መልሚላ ናብ ስራሕ ዘዋፈረት እምንቲ ቦታ እያ።

ኣብቲ ዕዙዝ ጽንብል፡ ኣዛዚ ማእከል ስልጠና ሃገራዊ ኣገልግሎት ኮ/ል ደበሳይ ግደ ኣብ ዘስምዖ ቃል፡ ተመረቕቲ ብልዑል ተወፋይነት መምህራንን ኣለይትን፡ ኣብ ኩሉ እቲ ኣብ ሳዋ ዝተወሃበ ትምህርቲ ልዕሊ 96 ምእታዊት ዕውታት ኰይኖም ንምምረቕታ ምብቅዖም “ዮሃና” ድሕሪ ምባል፡ ከም ዝሓለፉ ኣሕዋቶምን ኣሓቶምን ኣብ ኩሉ እቲ ዝወፈርሉ ሃገራዊ ዕማም ብቕዓቶም ከም ዘረጋግጹ ልዑል እምነቱ ገሊጹ።

ተመረቕቲ ካብ መላእ ሃገር ዝርከባ 2ይ ደረጃ ኣብያተ ትምህርቲ ዝመጹ ኰይኖም፡ ን8 ኣዋርሕ ናይ 12 ክፍሊ ኣካድማያዊ ትምህርቲ፡ 4 ወርሒ ድማ ወተሃደራውን ፖለቲካውን ከምኡ’ውን ስነ-ምግባር ኣካላዊ ህንጸትን ዘጠቓለለ ስልጠና እዮም ቀሲሞም።

ከም’ቲ ኣብ ምምጻእ ናጽነት፡ ኣብ ምዕቃብን ምኽባርን ልኡላውነት ሃገር ብመስዋእቶም ህዝቦም ዘድሓኑ መንእሰያት፡ ካብ ካልእ ዘይኰነስ ካብ’ዛ ማእከል ስልጠና ሃገራዊ ኣገልግሎት ፈርዮም ዝተራብሑ ብሉጻት ሰባት እዮም። ምኽንያቱ ሳዋ ሰብ ዝህነጸላ፡ ምንጪ ሓይሊ ኤርትራውያን እያ። ብዓብይኡ ከኣ፡ ነታ እንምነያ ኤርትራ ዝሃንጽ ሓንጐል ዝፈርየላ ኣብ ርእሲ ምዃና፡ ካብ ጽግዕተኛነት እተገላግል መምህር ኩለንትናዊ ህይወት ኣእላፍ ኤርትራውያን እያ- ሳዋ። ብሓጺሩ መዓስከር ሳዋ ሃገሮም ዘድሕኑ ብሓድነት ዝግስግሱን ሞያዊ ብቕዓትን ትምህርትን ዝድልቡላ ቦታ እያ።

ሳዋ፡ ንኹሎም ነቶም ኣብ ምዕቃብ ናጽነትን ክብረትን ሃገሮም ነታ ዘይትትካእ ህይወቶም ዝኸፈሉ ሓርበኛታትን ገና ሃገሮም ዝከላኸሉን ዝሃንጹን ዘለው ጀጋኑን እያ ተዛኻኽረካ። ህላዌና ምንባርና ተዋሒሱ ዝመልከዐ ድማ፡ ሳላ ሳዋ እዩ። ሳዋ ኣብዚ ሕጂ እዋን ከም ሕክምና፡ ኤለትሪክ፡ማይ፡ ህንጻ ዝኣመሰለ ብቑዕ ማሕበራዊ ኣገልግሎት ወኒና ትርከብ ውቕብቲ ከተማ ኮይና ኣላ። መንእሰያት ካብ ዝተፈላአየ ቦታታት ሃገርና ሒዞሞ ዝመጽኡ ባህላዊ ብዙሕነትን ፍልጠትን፡ ሞያን ብቕዓትን ኣብ’ዚ ቦታ ብምርኻብ እዮም ሓድነቶም ዘደልድሉ። ብሓፈሻ፡ ሳዋ መንእሰያት ኣብ ሓደ መኣዲ ብምስታፍ ተመኩሮን እናቐሰሙ ሓድሕድ ፍልጠትን ባህልን ዝለዋወጡላን ዝወራረሱላን ማእከል እያ። ኣብ ወጻኢ ሃገር ዝቕመጡ መንእሰያት ከይተረፈ ሃገራዊ ግቡኦም ንኽፍጽሙ ዝመጽኡላ ቦታ ብምዃና፡ ዜጋታት ንኽላለዩን ንኽዛተዩን ብኤርትራዊ መንፈስ ዝዓብዩላ ቦታ እያ። መንእሰያት ኤርትራ፡ ነቲ ኣብ ነብሶም ዝካየድ ወፍርን ጻዕርን ምኹስኳስ ሃገራዊ ንቕሓት ብዝግባእ ተረዲኦም፡ ካብ ሳዋ ምስ ወጹ ኣብ ሃገራዊ መደባት ክነጥፉን ልዑል ኣበርኩቶ ክገብሩን ንዕዘቦም ኣለና። ብሓጺሩ ሳዋ ሃገሮም ዘጽንዑ፡ ህዝቦም ዝሕብሕቡ ዜጋታት እትኹስኲስ ቤት መንእሰያት ኤርትራ እያ። ሳዋ፡ እሙናት ሰባት እያ ትሃንጽ። እምነ ኩርናዕ ኣተሓሳስባ ሸባባት ኤርትራ እያ። ምኽንያቱ ባህልን ክብርታትን ህዝቢ ኤርትራ፡ ዳግማይ ኣብ ሳዋ ስለዝተዀልዐ። ኣብቲ ኣጋጣሚ፡ ኣብ ኣካላዊ ብቕዓት፡ ጨመተ ተዂሲ፡ ወተሃደራዊ ሰልፊ፡ ስልታዊ ጥበባት፡ ባህልን ስነ-ምግባርን ኣጠቓላሊ ወተሃደራዊ ሰልፊ ጸብለል ኢሎም ንዝዛዘሙ ተመረቕቲ፡ ዕውታት ንዝዀና ኣሃዱታትን ኣለይትን ካብ ኢድ ክቡር ፕዚደንት ኢሳይያስ ኣፈወርቂን ጠቕላሊ ሓለቓ ስታፍ ሓይልታት ምክልኻል ኤርትራ ጀነራል ፍሊጶስ ወልደዮሃንስን ሽልማቶም ተቐቢሎም።

ተመረቕቲ ንሃገሮምን ህዝቦምን ብእምነት ከም ዘገልግሉ ቃለ-ማሕላ ድሕሪ ምፍጻም ድማ፡ እቲ ብምረሻ ባንድ፡ ወተሃደራዊ ሰልፊ፡ ብዝተፈላለዩ ባህላዊ ምርኢት ተሰንዩ፡ ካብ ሰዓት ካብ ወጋሕታ ክሳብ ሰዓት 8፡40 ቅ/ቐ ዝደመቐ ወግዓዊ ጽንብል ስነ-ስርዓት መመረቕታ መበል 38 ዙርያ ሃገራዊ ኣገልግሎት ብሃገራዊ መዝሙር ተዛዚሙ።

The menu/themes broached revolve around the same stale topics: revision of Eritrea's ancient, medieval & modern history to hoodwink public opinion and thereby "legitimize" the regime's illicit agenda of "sovereign access to the sea"; re-packaging of its reckless and adventurist agenda in the mantle of "self-defense"; distortion of Eritrea's normative diplomatic and economic cooperation ties in the wider neighborhood as "conspiracies" against Ethiopia; and disparaging of Eritrea's governance architecture and unparalleled social/national cohesion in its wholesale campaign of demonization... etc.

But while the themes remain the same, the new element in its latest disinformation spree is using official platforms - Foreign Policy Institute; Ethiopian Broadcast Corporation etc. - in lieu of unofficial mouthpieces (Horn Review; notorious lobbyists' and trolls ) that were the principal vehicles in the past.

1. First off, it will be pointless to waste time on mythology and manufactured narratives in as far as Eritrea's ancient, medieval and modern history are concerned. For serious students of history, there is indeed expansive literature based on rigorous archeological findings and interpretations on the Kingdom of Punt (from 1500 - 500 B.C.) that encompassed parts of modern Eritrea, Sudan, Djibouti, and extending toward Egypt); and the Adulis Civilization (300 B.C. - 700 A.D.) which predates and was latter concurrent, with sporadic linkages, to the Axumite Kingdom (300 - 700 A.D.). Historical reading of medieval and modern periods likewise illustrate that Ethiopia's meaningful presence in the Red Sea were confined to the unlawful Federation and Annexation periods that came about through the denial of Eritrea's right to decolonization. As such, there is no historical, legal, security or commercial rationale for its reckless and illicit of agenda of "sovereign access to the sea".
2. In this perspective, the Potemkin Party's new-found ploy to accuse Eritrea of "perennial subversion" stems from its transparent desire to change tack so as to rationalize its war agenda as "an act of self-defense". Indeed, official statements issued on the 25th Anniversary of the Algiers Agreement by the UN, the European Union, and several other countries have unequivocally reiterated the foundational principle of full respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations as the normative parameter of international relations. PP's nominal change of tone and tactics is evidently designed to circumvent this explicit and unambivalent position.
3. The Potemkin Party is further feigning annoyance on speculative cooperation and port development agreements that Eritrea "has reportedly" reached with Egypt, Saudi Arabia etc. In the first place, Eritrea's cooperation policies with prospective partners from the region and the wider world are based on cardinal principles of symmetry and mutual interest. And as it is the case with other countries, they stem from, and are predicated on, its own prerogatives and national interest considerations. Eritrea's positive and constructive stance on the cooperation of the littoral States of the Red Sea in order to enhance the safety and security of this important global maritime route is also well-known and in the public domain. As such, it cannot be misconstrued for nefarious political ends.
4. Eritrea has been and remains an oasis of national cohesion, peace and harmony that leverages ethnic and religious diversity as an asset rather than a liability for stoking perpetual tension and conflict among its constituent parts. The Potemkin Party, which is presiding over spiraling internal conflicts due to governance deficit, is not, and cannot be, in a position to disparage Eritrea on these and other accounts.
5. In a nutshell, it is the Potemkin Party's misguided policies that are at the root cause of the manufactured "crisis". As it is, the panacea does not lie in finger pointing at, or scapegoating, Eritrea; but in rectifying its reckless agenda of "sovereign access to the sea".

1/ For the past 2 years, the GoEthiopia, in clear violation of international laws (both @UN & AU) have threatened to invade Eritrea. To the extent, Ethiopia schemed to overthrow the GoEritrea.

I am convinced that Abiy is misleading both his people and Parliament by asserting that he discussed the ownership of Asseb with President Isaias. If Abiy had genuinely raised the issue of ownership and the construction of a naval base in Asseb during his visits to Asmara or Asseb, including the Millennium event, I am certain that President Isaias would have responded with a strong rebuke—perhaps even an outright slap to the face.

I believe the discussions were focused on securing access to Asseb, allowing both nations to benefit from this arrangement—a subject PIA has championed for many years without faltering.

The reality is that Abiy, as usual, has deceived his people in public. 🇪🇷

Potemkin Party (PP) trolls feign annoyance, get into hysterical commotion, and disparage Eritrea's routine diplomatic activities and/or Presidential visits to some country. And they have the audacity to portray Eritrea as a "lackey and doing the bidding of" some foreign country; these days, the tantrum is on "Eritrea-Egypt" ties!

Need to remind them to swallow these dosage of reality in historical terms. Indeed:
* It is the Ethiopian regime which solicited the diplomatic and political clout of the US to suppress Eritrea's right of decolonization in the 1940s. The overwhelming historical evidence on these machinations have since long been available in the public domain.
*Ethiopian regimes relied on US and Israeli military and technical support in the first decades; and on USSR (and Allies) massive military support in the later decades in their attempts to defeat Eritrea's thirty year war of national liberation. This is yesterday's history fresh in the minds of the contemporary generation (including Gen Z) and that cannot be whimsically erased or wished away.
*Even these days, the Potemkin Party relies heavily on massive international development assistance; opaque ties of dependence on some countries; and IMF bailouts as it pursues belligerent, reckless and unlawful policies against its neighbour under the agenda of "sovereign access to the sea".

President Isaias Afwerki and his delegation returned home in the early afternoon hours today winding down a fruitful visit to Egypt.

During the five-day working visit, President Isaias Afwerki held extensive discussions with his Egyptian counterpart, President Abdel Fatah el-Sisi, on consolidation of the ties of friendship and cooperation that exist between the two countries as well as on shared perspectives on regional issues and the security of the Red Sea.

President Isaias also attended the Inauguration Ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

In an interview with Egyptian TV (Cairo News) yesterday, President Isaias referred to the historical ties between Eritrea and Egypt which have been bolstered with time, and their closely aligned positions on various regional and international issues. President Isaias Afwerki further underlined the imperative for the countries of the region to work together for the promotion of peace and security and to foil deleterious external interferences.

ETHIOPIA ― Armed men in the Amhara region’s town of Bahir Dar abducted Six bank employees during a social gathering and demanded one million birr in #ransom for each person, according to the Ethiopian news outlet @zehabesha.

Ransom kidnappings like this have become increasingly common in #Ethiopia, especially in Oromia, Tigray, and other regions.

Observers point to the rising cost of living, high unemployment, a struggling economy, and the government’s limited ability to ensure security amid ongoing insurgencies and civil unrest as major contributing factors.

Awareness-Raising Training Program in Massawa

As part of efforts to enhance youth workers awareness, the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers (NCEW) branch in the Northern Red Sea Region organized an awareness-raising training program for young workers from various government institutions in the port city of Massawa and Ghinda. The training took place at the Massawa Workers Training Center.

The program covered topics such as the role of youth workers in the current stage, positive thinking, self-assertiveness, the importance of having vision, objectives and planning, safety at workplace, challenges faced by women in the workplace, and labor law in Eritrea.

Noting that capacity-building programs for workers have been regularly organized, Mr. Habtemariam Tesfamicael, Head of the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers branch in the Northern Red Sea Region, called on the trainees to apply the knowledge they gained in their respective workplaces.

Similarly, the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers branch provided training for unit heads of the confederation, focusing on the basic concepts of administration and leadership, the background and significance of the workers’ confederation, and joint discussion and collective agreements.
