@AbhishBanerj The real reason is the opposition gets voted by a significant populace that hate India too. Even if this opposition goes away, there will be another behaving the exact same way because that’s what their voters have voted them for.
"Modi Ji hamare Pita ki tarah hai. Mere Baap ke Girebaan tak agar kisika haath panhuch jaye toh woh meri galti hai"
.@smritiirani Ji expresses feelings in the minds of every Modi-Bhakt. 2029 won't be a Election-battle but a War. BJP's onslaught is going to be ruthless.

Two economists mathematically proved that AI will destroy the economy.
Researchers from Wharton and Boston University published a terryfiying paper called "The AI Layoff Trap."
They mapped out the economic end-game of the AI transition, and it exposes a fatal flaw in competitive capitalism.
When a company replaces a worker with AI, it captures 100% of the wage savings.
But that displaced worker is also a consumer. When they lose their job, they stop buying things.
The company gets all the savings, but the loss of consumer demand is spread across the entire economy.
If there are 20 competitors in a market, a CEO only absorbs 1/20th of the economic damage their layoffs just created.
So every single rational CEO has a mathematical incentive to automate as fast as possible.
They can literally see the cliff approaching, and they still step on the gas.
It triggers an unavoidable Prisoner’s Dilemma. If you don't automate, your competitors will, and they will crush you on price.
It doesn't just hurt workers. It destroys the businesses, too.
The economy gets trapped in an automation arms race. Companies fire their workforce to stay competitive, until the entire consumer base is completely hollowed out.
At the limit, the paper concludes: “Firms automate their way to boundless productivity and zero demand.”
And the scariest part?
The researchers mathematically tested every popular fix.
Universal Basic Income? Fails. It raises the living standard but doesn't change the corporate incentive to cut jobs. Retraining? Fails. Worker equity? Fails.
The paper proves that more competition actually makes the collapse happen faster. And "better" AI makes the damage worse.
The only thing that mathematically stops the collapse is a targeted automation tax, forcing companies to pay for the purchasing power they destroy before they automate the job.
This might surprise you
But back in 2004, India used to have trade surplus with China
Yes, you read that correctly
A trade SURPLUS!
Dr. Singh turned it into a $37 billion DEFICIT by 2014
But you likely don't know this
That is why history will be kind to Dr. Manmohan Singh
Milton Friedman on 4 ways to spend money:
1) Your money on yourself (you’re careful about both cost and quality)
2) Your money on others (you care about cost, less about quality)
3) Someone else’s money on yourself (you care about quality, not cost)
4) Someone else’s money on others (you care about neither)
The last one is how government spending works.
An Indian institute of technology filmed a full course on how money actually moves through a banking system and released it for nothing.
The course is Economics of Banking and Finance Markets, produced at IIT Kanpur under NPTEL, India's national open courseware programme. It runs in sequence as one continuous argument rather than a set of clips.
A green chalkboard, a lapel microphone, a checked shirt, one fixed camera.
He opens with the only question that matters at the start. Where does surplus money sit, who needs it, and what stands between them.
Then he splits the answer in 2. Direct finance, where the saver reaches the borrower through a market. Indirect finance, where a bank stands in the middle and absorbs the risk instead.
Everything after that hangs off the split. Time value of money, risk, information asymmetry, why institutions exist at all, and what regulators are actually regulating.
The turn is what he does with information. Banks are not warehouses for money. They exist because one side of every transaction knows things the other side does not, and the whole industry is built on charging for that gap.
It matters more now. Every fintech product claims to cut out the middleman, and almost none of them remove the information problem that put him there.
Free, in order, subtitled, funded by a public programme.
The banking system explained from the first principle, for nothing.
Lecture 1. 2 channels. It is in the video.
I have made this point for years
UPA govt batted on easy wicket
In fact, India was worst performing BRIC economy during their rule.
Since 2014, India has been best performing G20 economy
Thanks to good folks at the Matrix for this beautiful chart ... hope it is shared widely
Deservingly @indianmatrix got more visibility.
Now that post has gone to all mainstream media. Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw gave a 4-minute briefing about that post in today’s cabinet briefing.
One infographic pic has created havoc in the LW circle; they are rattled now.
(continued) Let me come to the jobs and income issue in the AI and factory automation era.
Let me start with this: "why does a Swiss school teacher afford an iPhone in 2-4 days of income while an Indian school teacher needs to work 2-4 months for the same thing?"
The answer in a nut shell: Switzerland has the deep tech capability to trade for iPhones made elsewhere on favorable terms and the Swiss political economy chooses to pay teachers well.
First, technology capability is absolutely critical not because of the direct jobs it brings but because of the "optionality" it gives in being able to arrange our own political economy in terms of the nature of jobs and income distribution.
That is a fancy way of saying "If you have the deep tech capability in a region, the regional economy has the option of paying non-tech occupations like teachers, farmers, barbers, ... well." Here "paying well" is translated as "how many days of work buys an iPhone".
Why do I say "option of". The regional economy can also be arranged in dystopian ways where prosperity is not widely shared and a few extremely rich people and a lot of very poorly paid people exist.
Now let me be clear: if a regional economy does not have the deep tech capability to exchange for the iPhone on favorable terms, the regional political economy has no option but to keep going into debt to the outside world.
Ultimately the debt will be held by the deep tech capable regions and companies. So they would give us all the tech and we become indebted to them.
Switzerland avoids that fate by having capabilities the world wants. Israel is another example. Each nation has fewer than 10 million people, so Chennai is bigger than each nation. Or as I prefer to see it "a few southern districts of Tamil Nadu have the population of Switzerland".
Now let me come to the UBI question: the way we can avoid the UBI hell is to first develop deep tech capability in the region (lots of R&D) and then we create jobs in what I call "Nature, Nurture, Culture and Scripture".
The jobs part is the political economy and I would spend the tech wealth in nature conservation and sustainable farming and decently paid farmers, good schools and decently paid teachers, good health care and decently paid nurses, good cultural and sports events and decently paid local artists, good religious institutions and decently paid priests and counselors.
The option to decently pay these jobs exist only if the region can trade on favorable terms and that comes from deep tech capability.
That is the long explanation of my thesis: Rural Development through Research and Development.
The R&D creates the external balance and the RD creates the internal harmony in society. That is my economic thesis: Balance, Symmetry, Harmony and Contentment.
R&D only makes it all possible, let me get back to work!
@AbhishBanerj I hate this pressure cooker theory, particularly if it’s only a tiny fraction of public with vested interest that seem to put up a show like they represent half of India. They should be actted upon swiftly with heavy hands.
@AskAnshul Every one in this list (and their near and dear ones) must be thoroughly investigated by ED and NIA, get their ill-gotten wealth confiscated and appropriately charged. The urban naxals must be dealt with iron hands.
@ANI Translation: our souls were sold to ISI decades ago, but now they are blackmailing us to do this as their last ditch effort, because mudi wouldn’t rejine, and porkis can’t do much about the IWT and water scarcity anyway.
