@DefiantLs I see Satan in the pulpit… mocking, laughing and indoctrinating people who clap and cheer him on as they drink in and celebrate the mental illness that stands before them.
@erichoke “Make it impossible for your pastor to be fired by an angry mob of a few families.” Your 5 help steps are great. The familial control in many churches, many times is in the leadership and the search committee. Is this why the avg pastoral length is 3-5 yrs?
@Nateball40@erichoke Institutionally driven model is /has failed. What’s sad is that our nation, especially, is reeling the the rotten fruit of this issue. Pray we change…
@joyklaprade @laurchas22 My first thought also. Maybe because he led it that way…and what? Now he is mad because he is the leader of the religious show and people are testing church like a religious show? Umm….ok.
@erichoke Yep. One sheet for a church I was looking over had 6 pages of information about the church role, 3 of those 6 were what they ‘were looking for’. Pastors have gotten wiser so as not to fall for the sham.
@timatcvcf@erichoke The degree of leadership and knowledge, coupled with experience some church’s want is comparable to secular companies that pay top dollar in the six figures for the same education, experience and leadership! Churches want top shelf ministers for bottom shelf pay!!
@erichoke Most often times, in my experience, salary expenses come in after facilities and existing ministry expenses. I have always found it odd any church could desire an M.Div or D.Min and actually pay a McDonald’s manager salary!! 🙄…
@sheilagregoire Nice job on exegeting the issues in his book. I would have to agree on most every issue you address. Especially how sex should be viewed and function in a marriage. Great work!!
@scflirt1@reachjulieroys@johnmacarthur@GraceComChurch How bout let’s ask the right question. What does Jesus want? What does Jesus want in a pastor? What does He want in elders? His church?? They all are an anathema to Jesus Christ in they way they have and still behave.
@Juniper92254244 @reachjulieroys@johnmacarthur@GraceComChurch No special privilege for Pastors. They are mandated reporters. Legally they should have been held accountable and responsible for not reporting the abuse.
@kevinmyoung Well, interesting equation. Is is simply possible that reformation theology has misinterpreted Paul and/or has misrepresented him? I never thought of it that way, but it could be.
@richvillodas “Jesus confronts you in every person that you meet. As long as there are people, Christ will walk the earth as your neighbor, as the one through whom God calls you, speaks to you, makes demands on you.”-Bonhoeffer
@melissajhogan Are you willing to submit to a polygraph with questions being focused on honesty, integrity, and any deception including questions on abuse?
@DefendTheSheep What is it that he believes ‘women’ need correcting on for them to be ‘nice’, instead of (as he states), ‘nasty’? Q: How can one be a Pastor and have a ‘low view’ of women?
@LauraRbnsn@philvischer CN as you all are discussing has a Christology, but it is with a ‘lower case c’ not a capital C. In our current climate Jesus is along for the ride on the CN bus, he’s not driving the bus. Low view of Christ, high view of man!!
