Taxation is extortion, not slavery.

“Slavery” is generally understood to mean when a person is held involuntarily and forced under threat of violence to work without pay for the profit of another. Both involve essentially robbery, but slavery goes further in two respects. First, a slave is held involuntarily. And second, a slave is forced to work. Neither result from taxation, so taxation is extortion, not slavery.

However, we are all forcibly controlled by government in that we must abide by all laws under threat of violence. It is possible for government to pass literally any law (in some democracies, by only needing a simple majority in Parliament), and in that sense, we are completely controlled by government in the same way that a slave owner controls a slave.

But on the strict definition of slavery, the fact we are currently not forced to work and are allowed to leave the country means we are not slaves. We are absolutely victims of extortion though.

Russia leapfrogs America in military technology yet again, demonstrating its "Burevestnik" cruise missile that has UNLIMITED range. It can circle the Earth many times, loitering in the atmosphere and waiting for commands. It does this because it's powered by an on-board small nuclear reactor rather than combustible fuel of any kind. This means it can strike any target anywhere in the world, and it can arrive at a wildly unpredictable trajectory, it can maneuver and evade all anti-air defense systems, and it's "stealth" by nature, meaning it's almost impossible to track with radar.

All western anti-air defenses are now utterly obsolete, including those protecting Israel. (Not that the Iron Dome worked very well to begin with...)

This is on top of the Oreshnik missile system that Russia already deployed and has moved into mass production. It can strike any target with a NON-NUCLEAR kinetic strike at extremely high velocity (something approaching Mach 20) with 36 independently maneuverable incoming "vehicles" made of special materials that nearly atomize whatever they strike on the ground. (It's all turned to fine dust powder.)

There is zero defense against Oreshnik. These missiles can take out U.S. aircraft carriers by punching holes all the way through them, from top to bottom. They can also obliterate deep underground bunkers.

The U.S. military, despite spending a trillion dollars a year (mostly on waste and fraud), has nothing that even comes close.
