A peer-reviewed paper published in the journal Bioethics (Oct 2025, Wiley) argues that we may be MORALLY OBLIGATED to promote the spread of the lone star tick — the one that gives people a severe red-meat allergy called alpha-gal syndrome (AGS).

The authors' logic, in plain English:

1. Eating meat is morally wrong.

2. The tick stops people from eating meat.

3. Therefore stopping the tick is wrong — and spreading it is good.

4. We can genetically engineer ticks. So we should.

They call this the "Convergence Argument." The title of the paper is — and we're not making this up — "Beneficial Bloodsucking."

Watch it before it is taken down! This is “The Midas Plague,” the 12th episode of Series 1 of the BBC sci-fi anthology series Out of the Unknown (BBC2).

It is an adaptation of Frederik Pohl’s 1954 satirical short story (sometimes referenced with a 1956 date in secondary sources) about a future automated society where robots produce endless goods, forcing humans into a cycle of overconsumption with social status ironically tied to how much one must consume (the poor are burdened with the most).

It originally aired on 20 December 1965. The original videotape masters were wiped in the early 1970s as part of the BBC’s routine they claimed as a cost-savings measure.

Many programmes were routinely erased or discarded once their immediate repeat especially ones that offered “too much thinking”. The wiping policy officially ended around 1978 as home video and archival value became clearer and erasure memory holes became harder until our moment where we assume all is saved.

It was long believed lost by many, but the telerecording preserved it. I located and shared a copy as part of my work on the “Great Forgetting” and You Have 5,000 Days series.

Some think this is from fan-assembled retelling. But it is not.

Something that EVERYONE seems to be overlooking:

The Trump Administration’s clearly stated objective is to hand-off operational control of the Middle East to our regional allies. To be clear: what’s happening with Iran right now is Trump’s EXIT STRATEGY.

Spread out amongst all of our U.S. military installations in the Middle East, we’ve maintained a constant on-the-ground presence of ~45,000 men, costing us somewhere around $5 billion per year. Trump wants this to come to an end.

However, in order for this regional hand-off and subsequent U.S. withdrawal to take place, the Iranian regime (and its capacity to project military power, destabilize the region, and interfere with economic activity) needs to come to an end.

Step 1: Cripple the Iranian regime.

Step 2: Hand-off operational control of the Middle East to our regional allies.

Step 3: Withdraw from the region - the ‘final chapter’ of the Bush/Obama-era ‘War on Terror.’

The reality is, for the first time in over two decades we have a President who’s actually taking steps towards concluding the never-ending Middle Eastern quagmire.

You can use the timeline to go back and watch how the front lines moved hour by hour or day by day, so you know who owns what and when. It was incredibly accurate in our fight against ISIS and gave us a real edge.
