$QCOM bouncing today after the post earnings selloff
Handset weakness and soft Q4 guidance triggered the drop last week, but the stock is starting to stabilize. Auto revenue still the standout (+61% last quarter), and the long-term Edge AI + diversification story remains intact.
Seeing some bullish options flow too. Short term noise vs. multi year thesis still watching execution.

$QCOM After the Sell Off Looking Past the Handset Noise
A day after the Q3 print, $QCOM is still under pressure That’s normal when guidance disappoints
But if we zoom out, the more important number from the report was the 61% jump in automotive revenue. That segment is no longer a side story it’s becoming a real growth engine
Edge AI and automotive are tightly linked. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platforms are designed for low power, high efficiency on device processing exactly what modern vehicles and intelligent devices need. This is the same technology edge that positions the company well for the broader Edge AI opportunity
Short term handset weakness and softer Q4 guidance create volatility. For long term investors focused on AI infrastructure beyond the data center, the diversification progress is what matters most.
$QCOM Q3 Earnings: Handset Weakness, Auto Surge Does the Long Term Thesis Still Hold?
Qualcomm reported Q3 FY2026 results yesterday:
Revenue ~$9.95 billion, slightly above estimates but down ~4% YoY
Non GAAP EPS $2.21, slightly missed expectations
Highlight Automotive revenue jumped 61% to a record high IoT also grew
Pressure points Handset business declined noticeably, and Q4 guidance came in soft
The stock reacted negatively in the short term. From a long term AI investing perspective, though, this actually reinforces Qualcomm’s core story handsets are cyclical, while the real growth drivers remain Edge AI, automotive, and data center. Management is still targeting ~$40 billion in non-handset revenue by FY2029
Short term volatility is normal. The key is still execution progress. This is just my personal research and sharing not investment advice. What do you think of the results? Feel free to share your thoughts below.
$QCOM
Q2 FY2026 Earnings Highlights
Revenue reached $10.6 billion, with Non GAAP EPS at $2.65, beating expectations. Automotive business hit a quarterly record, and combined Automotive + IoT grew 20% YoY showing solid diversification progress The company also announced a $20 billion share repurchase plan.
Long Term AI Thesis
Qualcomm’s real strength lies in Edge AI (On-Device). Its Snapdragon platforms feature efficient NPUs that run AI models locally on phones, PCs, cars, and more delivering better privacy, lower latency,
and power efficiency
At the 2026 Investor Day, management laid out a clear full stack AI strategy spanning edge to cloud. They significantly raised non-handset revenue targets to ~$40 billion by FY2029, with data center custom chips, AI PCs, intelligent vehicles, and robotics as key growth drivers.
Why It Fits Long Term Portfolios
Reasonable valuation, strong tech moat, and real world adoption momentum make QCOM a balanced AI holding not the flashiest, but built for durability.Of course, handset cyclicality and execution risks in new areas remain watch points. This is just my personal research and sharing not investment advice. Markets involve risk. What do you think about QCOM? Feel free to discuss below!
The Fed kept rates at 0% for a long time
Lots of pundits predicted it would lead to a crisis and maybe even hyperinflation
Didn't happen
Then they raised rates b/c of the pandemic inflation
Still no crisis
Why?
Agreed!
Price action may break before the thesis. Maintain a long term view if fundamentals remain intact. Build your own thesis and stay patient markets will refocus on fundamentals🫡
I'm bullish on $RKLB for the next 3 months
Rocket Lab delivered a strong H1 with record Electron launches and growing backlog. The transformative Iridium acquisition is a game changer, positioning them as a vertically integrated space powerhouse
Analysts’ average target sits at $100-108 (solid upside potential). Backed by NASA, U.S. Space Force contracts, and broader space tailwinds
Volatility is expected short-term, but the medium-term growth story looks compelling
What’s your take? 👇

Interesting move on $NUAI. Appreciate the clean thesis summary saves a lot of time.
Well played on the $IREN call @awilkinson
Will be watching how this develops👏
This $266M USAF contract is a major win for $RKLB
Not only does it expand their defense footprint with 12+ suborbital launches through 2028, but it further validates Rocket Lab’s growing role in national security missions alongside their strong Electron cadence and the strategic Iridium acquisition
Solid long term tailwinds in a high barrier sector Continuing to watch closely
