Danielle Smith says she won't be the one putting a separation refendum on the ballot, but if that's a question that comes up via citizien driven initiative, it will go to a vote.
@bennyjohnson@bennyjohnson very big misunderstanding of the Canadian system. Majority of Canadians see Trump as a bully, not a saviour. It is not rational thinking- but this is the viewpoint of most. I look at actions more than words. Trump is a transformational president. Pierre ran well
@bennyjohnson@bennyjohnson outsider take.
If you are honest- you will see BQ didn’t perform- NDP didn’t perform. You are using your understanding of a 2 party system to evaluate the Canadian system. Trump effect with tariffs and 51st state pushed BQ, NDP voters to the liberals. Honest take
@CandiceMalcolm@Cernovich@CandiceMalcolm@Cernovich very honest and logically take by Candice. Quebecers hemorrhaging support for bloc also led to Carney having a night. The fact he is held to a minority demonstrates how powerful Pierre campaigned. Stay the course, carney is Trudeau Re-carneyated
@chrispavlovski Nice opinion. Holds no credibility. Polling was clear- Trump tariffs scared older generation & Quebecers. Conservatives won largest vote share since 1988. Younger generations moved conservative. This minority mandate is fragile, luckily NDP will rebound & vote will split next
@ianmiles@ianmiles did you see his riding had 100 candidates? Or that mostly government employees in his district? Or that he has been a candidate for 20 years? I argue he didn’t go after Trump enough…. Trump royally screwed Canada
@ianmiles@ianmiles you are wrong. It was the tariff threat that beholden the left with mark carney resume. The 51st state just drove it over the edge. Quebec in particular bought into the narrative and handed liberals the win with Ontario going over the top.
@LAOJoe@CryptoPal4@CPC_HQ Double standard. You misread that statement. Average, meaning people over 50? Conservatives handily won younger Canadian vote. Is that average enough for you?
There is nothing that the Canadian Liberal Party can do to its citizens that causes the electorate to alter its vote. What a tragic failure of the sacred responsibility that informed citizens should exhibit in a democracy. So clear that Canada is no longer the place for us.
Calling a razor close election before any of the Western provinces had their votes counted is a fabulous way to throw kindling on the fire of a secession crisis. Good job CBC and CTV.
