I have some very exciting news I'd like to share: I'm moving to the USA in January to take up a tenure-track Assistant Professor position at George Mason University—a public R1 university near Washington DC. I'm really looking forward to this new adventure across the pond!
Why are humans so diverse? How do we evolve as a species?

I spent a fantastic day at the @LHFC_UNED today: I spoke about Schrödinger and received amazing feedback, had a lovely lunch, and discussed my research on national radio. Till next time!
In today's colloquium, Christian Dorninger presented his dissertation work-- to be defended very soon!-- on human niche construction at a global scale through industrial production & exchange, with implications for sustainability leverage points.
Good luck, Christian!!
The latest article by KLI Senior Fellow Dan Nicholson has been highly recommended in F1000Prime as being of exceptional significance in its field by two F1000 Faculty Members. Recommendations of Dan's article "Is the Cell Really a Machine?" can be read at https://t.co/D9PkX6M7Pr

Do you have a #ISHPSSB19 presentation that you'd like to write up as a full paper for a journal? Here's a RT of tips from our editors sharing some tips on how to avoid rejection that should apply across the fields, not only @HPLSjournal.
Hey #ISHPSSB19 people, do you know what’s best to stay up to date on new, daily philsci publications? Us. Check it out, tell us what you think, and enjoy Oslo. @ISHPSSB2019 https://t.co/aKGqg7l3DD
A really great read. Cells, protein complexes, etc are more like fluids of configurations than rigid machines with a punctate state space. Reminds me a bit of @arjunrajlab 's piece on why circuits are a flawed metaphor for gene networks https://t.co/Q0LJ8vl9ZJ
PhD/ECR join us: 9 JULY, 12.30–14.30 @ISHPSSB2019 in Oslo “Mentoring Groups on Professional Development” with Guido Caniglia, Charbel El-Hani, Arantza Etxeberria @MirenAEA, Sabina Leonelli @SabinaLeonelli , Laura Nuño de la Rosa García, Thomas Pradeu @pradeu, & Joeri Witteveen.
My latest paper is out in the Journal of Theoretical Biology, and it’s a big one! An ambitious, 20,000-word examination of the nature of the living cell in light of recent research (spoiler alert: the answer to the title is 'No'!):

Happy to announce that last week I successfully defended my PhD on the "Role of miRNAs and their machinery in hepatocytes and pancreatic beta cells"! Hard work always pays back and I'm excited about what the future will bring next!
Thanks to everyone who was there to support me!
