@GodlyAction Your religious freedom protects your right to believe; it doesn't make your threats of divine punishment any less sanctimonious or hypocritical.
@ThoughtfulCafe@darwintojesus Insulting critics’ intelligence instead of addressing their arguments is a poor substitute for evidence & hardly a christian response. Archaeology can verify places & rulers, not prove divine claims. You’re confusing historical evidence w/ theological belief.
Norway is one of the most democratic and prosperous countries on Earth.
Free health care
Free college
Strong democracy
Free press
Trump says “Norway sucks” and is a “shithouse country” because it won’t give him the Nobel Prize.
Insane. We have a mentally unbalanced president.
@patrickbetdavid 'Stay alert, America!' A foreign political commentator portrays Brazil's institutions as enemies of democracy bc they oppose his preferred side. That's how you normalise interference in another country's politics while pretending it's a warning. Stay alert, people!
@AiG If your conclusion is fixed before you examine the evidence, you're not testing your beliefs; you're protecting them. Treating the Bible as the final authority over contradictory evidence is circular reasoning, not independent historical verification.
@zachmcd24 If you advocate criminalising abortion & imprisoning men who fail to provide, how would you reconcile those policies w/ constitutional principles, individual liberty & equal treatment under the law? It's more complicated than you suggest, isn’t it?
@Sonderisfon The question is loaded. It assumes the atheist is offended simply bc the Christian prays. Most atheists don't care. Pray if you wish; just don’t assume disbelief means intolerance.
@mattwridley Nobody disputes that the Holocaust was genocide. But a demographic graph doesn't establish genocide in one case & disprove it in another. Genocide is about prohibited acts & intent to destroy a group; not a competition over death tolls.
Also “shithouse” Norway:
🇳🇴 Press freedom: 1st v. 🇺🇸 64th
🇳🇴 Happiness: 6th v. 🇺🇸 23rd
🇳🇴 Life expectancy: 83 v. 🇺🇸 78
🇳🇴 Wealth fund: $350k each v. 🇺🇸 debt $115k each
🇳🇴 Health cover: everyone v. 🇺🇸 27 million uninsured
🇳🇴 Uni fees: free v. 🇺🇸 $1.87 trillion in student loans
@tom_watson Palantir says customers can leave. MPs say vendor lock-in risks remain & have called for a fully costed NHS exit plan. Data portability isn't proof of a cheap, disruption-free exit. Show the migration costs & evidence.
@AviMayer Nice try. You're comparing the cost of US troops stationed abroad w/ direct military aid to Israel. Different things. Germany, Japan & S. Korea host US forces serving US strategic interests; Israel receives billions in direct military assistance. One doesn't negate the other.
Kushner also failed to disclose himself as an agent of a foreign government, having been paid nearly $2 billion in total by foreign leaders. https://t.co/kwhRHimvqU
The irony writes itself. NF helped sell Brexit with the misleading £350m-a-week NHS claim, then called the pledge a 'mistake'. Now he promises £40bn in savings. Britain surely deserves independently costed figures, not another round of political promises, slogans & unsubstantiated BS.
@Olasejoe False choice. Science doesn't claim to know everything. The Big Bang, evolution & abiogenesis address different Qs. Gaps in scientific knowledge don't prove Genesis any more than faith disproves science.
@SteveyJohnH@Rod__Mason It's not about holidays. It's about jobs, investment, exports & opportunities for young people. Global trade deals don't replace frictionless access to your largest nearby market. If Brexit delivered a better deal, where's the evidence that the economic gains outweigh the costs?
