Born in 1831, Dorothea Beale transformed girls’ education as head of Cheltenham Ladies' College, creating a rigorous curriculum to match boys' schools. A GSA co-founder, she also founded St Hilda’s College, Oxford, to train women teachers. Her legacy inspires us today.
